Re: Best aircraft for 1 day pairings?
If you've got significant heavy jet time, there is a good chance that you will be assigned a WB FO spot right in initial. This is outdated information. There hasn't been a WB FO from PIT since summer of 2023, except one 330 FO a few weeks ago that was actually a typo for RP. You can look at the wee...

Re: Best aircraft for 1 day pairings?
If you desire single day Carribean turns it might make sense to bid 737 and go for the second FO spot on these high credit Carribean turns. Food for thought. Second FO spot? Surely they would have to run an augment Captain? Or maybe we are going to be the first airline with 737 RPs? You are right I...

Any Update On The New Contract?
I've heard rumours the Flair first year salary is 6 figures and Captains are over 10% higher wages in the first year than WestJet. Is that true?

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
You can’t monetize loss of seniority. Yes you can. A year of Jazz wages (FO or Captain) vs. a year of 777 captain (or 777fo if you claim the pilots not might upgrade) is clear monetary losses. That's probably where the 200-250k lawsuit originates from. It won't solve loss of lifestyle, loss of upgr...

What YYZ base narrow body has the most 1 day pairings available? Is it possible to get any 1 day pairings with low seniority? Does Rouge have the most 1 day Caribbean pairings? On average Rouge is 50% and the other NB is 30% for day turns out of YYZ. Rouge has the most Carribean turns but the deep ...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
You can't leave Jazz if already at Jazz with th3 goal of going to AC. AC has been blacklisting anyone who tries that for 2 years. Management loves to say that but I know 3 guys who qualify under the 'blacklisting' but got into AC well before any of their senior Jazz friends did. Right on, if you ca...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
The planet where a CDN pilot showed up for his first day at AC with seniority. This countered your point. It’s unlikely for jazz but not impossible. Proves my point even further. Canadian pilots became AC pilots when they merged. AC is not merging with Jazz, it's no different than a pilot coming fr...

Hello. I'm considering AC vs some other options. I was initially leaning towards AC but now have become doubtful due to just how far back they are in terms of pay vs every one else and how much one would have to struggle the first year. The only way i see surviving on $58k in a big city is picking ...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
The company doesn’t control the seniority list and there is not a chance in hell that the pilots will entertain adding another division by adjusting seniority dates due to something the company did. Once again it's up to arbitration as to what is fair, not the company or union. Maybe the Jazz pilot...

OP you need to watch the latest podcast. The host felt the same way as most of us but the lawyer pointed out you shouldn't be voting yes or no based on one specific issue to the detriment of everything else. Don't let your anger on one topic cloud your judgement. That being said, if they think they ...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
Why just the 285 that actually got hired and not the ones that didn't? Those that make up the 37% that went to AC were certainly affected, but I'd say the missing 23% that didn't and are still stuck at Jazz are more negatively impacted. These are the only ones with a solid legal case- when you adde...

Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
In 2022 Air Canada broke their 60% Jazz flow-through agreement. The first 285ish that came to Air Canada property in 2023 are part of the Jazz grievance against Air Canada management. As an update given from the Jazz grievance committee (and given from a friend), the grievance is to be heard by the ...

They assign you a position in Toronto and you go through training and line indoc. Then you bid a different base, usually on a different aircraft, and you go through training and line indoc again. Not true at all. Towards the end of the first week of PIT, they present a list of available positions a...

Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
HR is probably doing ritual dances and sacrifices praying that people with more experience apply. No doubt they are scratching their heads and wondering where the 5000 and 6000 hour pilots with large airline command experience and jet time went. But I doubt they are doing a single thing about it ot...

The company wasn't going to give the pilots the option to strike in the summer. They were heavily hinting an impasse to start the clock for an April strike to preserve the summer schedule. For those that claim lost leverage I'd argue there is nothing lost you never had leverage to begin with

Re: Are the working conditions / is the pay that bad at air canada
The contract has lots of hidden gotchas that affect your quality of life. They go along the lines of a really good contract, but end with "unless the company has to" or some other vague comment that the company can use. An example of this is under Reserve 29.10.04.02 "...when no other pilot is immed...

I created an account just to say based on my experience I've seen only one AC lanyard since September and that was in the simulator.hsilgnepilot wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2023 8:47 pm Still a shockingly high number of AC pilots wearing company lanyards and not wearing an ALPA one.
