Re: Encore hiring 2026
I just got a hirevue invite. This will be my first job interview in 25 years! I have searched and found several previous posts on what kind of questions to expect, but I am curious about one thing: It says I have the opportunity to rehearse my answers as many times as I want. Can anyone who's done ...

Re: NavCanada's stupid satelite ADSB mandate
Where are you seeing adsb in is mandatory anywhere?tazin river wrote: ↑Tue Jan 06, 2026 11:22 am Thanks Folks
Will the ADSB in and out capability be mandatory in northern Canada (NWT) in 2028 or earlier for small float plane? ADSB OUT only be ok? I hear different verdicts....

Re: Encore hiring 2026
WJ did but I highly doubt encore stopped upgrading. They don’t even have the captains to staff the current flying I've seen the emails. They stopped everything as I described. The already planned flows and upgrades for Feb and March are cancelled for both Encore and mainline. What’s the rationale b...

Apparently WJ and Encore just froze all upgrades and flow. Stopped DEC captain hiring. Base moves stopped. WJ did but I highly doubt encore stopped upgrading. Re: NavCanada's stupid satelite ADSB mandate
Morning folks and sorry for joining this thread so late… I want to install a new transponder in our 180 and I now see this debate about adsb. There are some decent deals on adsb OUT only transponder but before I go ahead with that, I am hearing that by 2028, transponders with the diversity option w...

Re: Encore hiring 2026
Mine went from “application received” to “under review” within a couple days of submitting. Not sure if “in progress” comes before or after that… I have tons of time so not stressing yet, though this is the first job I’ve applied for in over 25yrs, so I have no idea what to expect! What does it say...

Re: Temporary 'Foreign' Pilots??
Why did these doctors not train in Canada? Seems a no brainer that if you want to live and work in Canada that as a Canadian you’d get your training here. I’m sorry but I don’t think that Canadians that went to Harvard or Johns Hopkins want to be a GP in Flin Flon. Probably couldn't tick enough div...

Your credibility is in the toilet, and you're still not providing sources for your absurd claims. Take your GDP per capita stats, then remove the top 5% (wealthy elites) . It doesn't look so good anymore, eh? Most of the US "growth" is isolated to the wealthy elite, not the poors or even middle cla...

Re: Encore hiring 2026
Anyone else showing “in progress” at the moment and/or know what it means? Curious, has the status changed from initial application? In progress likely means being reviewed, could also mean they are preparing to offer you an interview but it is all relative to what the status was before this. If yo...

The beauty of hydro electric is that it can be spooled up and down on demand. Powerex (export division of BcHydro) has for years had a deal with the utility in Washington state. They run the nuclear plant above the required baseline, but below peak demand. they buy power from Powerex thru the day t...

We probably wouldn't blame things on them if there wasn't a verifiable track record of them getting in the way to make things difficult, more expensive or outright impossible for millenials. Take zoning for example. Who do you think makes up the vast majority of the opposition to densification byla...

But I believe that the original poster is not interested in doing this. Therefore, good comment but not app...

Re: Aircraft Import/Ferry

Could you let us know. Well firstly you actually have two separate licences. You can keep one or both active. And for ...

I can't comment on the other method as I have not done it but reading that conversion process Advisory Circular alone looks like it could take days compared to a few minutes to read FAR 61.75. You still need to do the iacra verification which is the part that often takes the longest. But I guess it...

Seems like just about the same amount of effort/potentially more effort, than just getting the stand alone FAA conversion which is a one and done process and you get all the same endorsements. I can't comment on the other method as I have not done it but reading that conversion process Advisory Cir...

I was put into the hiring pool a couple days ago. Was told one ground school per month starting in January. How long from applying to go through the process was it for you? Re: Aircraft Import/Ferry
ok, so this got me to looking. Go digging on the faa website, eventually you will find this https://www.faa.gov/documentLibrary/media/Advisory_Circular/AC_61-135A_CHG_1.pdf So for the PPL looks like you need an FAA medical, and have to pass the conversion test. Seems the same for the other licenses...

Re: Aircraft Import/Ferry
I see. So if the above gets you a Commercial multi-IFR do you really need that ATPL conversion course, or can you just write their ATPL exam(s) and do a type rating and get your ATPL that way? Yes, the course is mandatory for all ATPL in FAA land. If you have a TC ATPL, and don't do the course, but...
