Straight-in Approaches

I have a question about when it is possible to conduct a straight-in approach (no PT). I'd like to make it clear that my question is not about when it is possible to use straight-in landing minima. RAC 9.16 describes straight-in approaches from an intermediate fix. Although poorly written, it explai...

Re: CMA Hiring First Officers

I agree with this formula. Spent a year in Vancouver on the ramp as a low timer, decided it was enough. Now I'm up north and within 6 months, I have 700 hours, am trained on 4 different aircraft (right seat mind you) including Be20 and should progress smoothly to Pa31 left seat at 1000ish. On top of...

Airspeed Aviation

I'm looking for some basic info on Airspeed Aviation out of YXX. Mainly wondering if John Giesbrecht is still the CP and if they operate 2 crew, although anything would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I've noticed Skywords has their main base in Markham, Ontario however they also advertise Vancouver and Ottawa. Do they have pilot bases in Vancouver?

I hear that pasco is hiring summer help on the ramp. Do they do any upgrading to FO from the ramp?

Seems like an interesting place to say the least! We're kind of behind at school here and won't be done until late May or early June. I've been told my position will be held until June or July. :smt001

YTH Pictures

Hey guys, got a job offer in YTH with Perimeter the other day. Was wondering if anyone had any pictures kicking around of the airport / aircraft or town. Lived in BC my entire live and am curious what the area looks like - I imagine it is much flatter :P Only pic I found on a search was a native pas...

sounds right wally, I'm certain you don't need 250TT to write the exam... but to validate the IATRA, 250TT is needed.

Re: IATRA

I have recently talked to TC regarding the IATRA and from what I understood requirements are 150 hours total and a license be it a private or commercial. As mentioned the rating is needed for A/C that require two crew. Hmm.. I'm pretty sure it is 250 hours TT. I wish it were 150 though, then I woul...

What would it take for an entry level pilot to get on this cargo run out of YVR?

Do they upgrade from the ramp at YVR? Or do you need the hours first and then apply direct into a FO position? (If so, how many do they want for an FO?)
