Assistance compressing a large PDF file

AvCanada readers! I have a PDF document I would like to share with the readership and would hope someone might help. The document is entitled: PRELIMINARY PILOT’S OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS ARROW 1 and is dated April 1958. Clearly a rather interesting document! This document is 174,962 kb and has 187 sc...

Re: Weird situation, looking for help....

It may by TC's problem in that they are responsible for the proper issuance of a licence based on the reported hours the applicant reports. Certainly it is going through the extra works to validate the hours, but there are still some ways to try and figure this one out. First off the Daily flight sh...

Re: 2 Air Transat pilots charged with being impaired

A lot of speculation as to what exactly happened in this case. A quick web search shows that Scottish law are similar to what we have in Canada in that the crown is required to provide the defense with a "disclosure" package which includes all the evidence available to the police authorities. This i...

Re: DUI Conviction and license suspension.

Just to clarify a bit further if, at the time of the impaired driving violation, a Canadian police officer is aware of the fact that you have a pilot licence, he may apply, at the discretion of the court, for a suspension order that apply to the pilot licence as well. This is done by a police reques...

There are many TC inspectors reading this forum and as previously mentionned by Gilles, the same TC inspectors were gagged from discussing foreign pilots issue outside TC. It would be interesting if someone could snatch up the famous legal opinion from the Dep...

Furthermore, no one should doubt your words on that topic, in light of the ''personal'' interaction you experienced with the whole process!

Re: Ottawa RIver Departure under the Bridge

It is interesting to see the amount of support for this pilot taking off and being airborne, way before he got the bridge. Is the issue really the ability to actually take off and land or whether the take off and landing was legal? I think not. The issue is whether or not it is appropriate to fly un...

If you're up for a big read, there is a supreme court deicision that applies to a similar case:

http://scc-csc.lexum.com/scc-csc/scc-cs ... 4/index.do
(Johannesson v. Municipality of West St. Paul, Manitoba)

It may be usefull in your case.

Re: Where to land a floatplane in Winnipeg or Southport ?

602.13 applies.

Anything inside the Perimeter is within the city of Winnipeg.

Therefore the only legal location is an airport, heliport or military aerodrome.

There was an aerial applicator, years ago, who requested an exemption, which as I recalled was denied by TC.

Cap41: By sending the ''post card'' even with a missing piece of information, you have officially notified TC of the change of registration and therefore you have completed what they call ''due diligence''. TC expects to be notified. They have. You could also look at the option of a quick check with...
