I’ve heard they’re very picky. Need to know someone internally and have a type rating on their aircraft to get hired.Canadaflyer46 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 6:30 am They have the lowest paid widebody captains in the western world, making less that a third of a UPS 767CA. I don’t think they can be picky with their hiring.

Re: Pilot Hiring 2025
Then why did Flair stopped hiring FOs if short? ... Because we're not short staffed, just short on the FO side. Lots of junior Captains fly either seat as necessary. If management has decided to hire more FO, it could mean a couple different things; more aircraft coming, or more attrition expected ...

[ How did your coworker get an offer with such low time? My coworker whose a long time king air training captain can’t seem to get an offer. Re: Pacific Coastal
Bonds are just unethical I say. Value your pilots and they will definitely stay . Under a ‘normal’ job market, probably. Over the last 2 years of unprecedented growth, there is literally *Nothing* that a company like Pasco could have done, or afforded to do, to keep young pilots around. Nobody is g...

As far as your career progression will go, dude-ette, I suggest you attend as many women in aviation programs and seminars you can. It’s fly pink month, your thousands of hours of king air pic time will certainly land you something by November 1st. Good luck troll. Sorry I do not have thousands of ...

Re: Has anyone had success with PICUS?
The best PIC time is actual 703 command time. Ripping around the north in a Pilatus, Navajo or Caravan. That's the best way to make decisions and learn from them. It's also the way our licensing experience metric is designed. PICUS is the next best. TC trusts a CPL enough with a Pilatus, but to be ...

Re: Has anyone had success with PICUS?
Your situation is exactly where it makes sense, unfortunately what is actually going on is pilots like me262 who think TC rules are”stupid” are getting PICUS after coming to the airline with a wet ink CPL and even then they still thinks it’s bullshit they need the PICUS program. FO time always, at ...

Re: Has anyone had success with PICUS?
I needed roughly 6 hours of night PIC XC after a few thousand hours of PIC from a decade of crop dusting and water bombing. My experience was about 98% day VFR in piston bangers and turbines. A few decisions were made over all those years... I finished off my AAs with PICUS at Porter many years ago...

Encore needs to hire applicants who are upgradable in fairly quick timeframe. Sounds like poor planning to end ip with too many FOs.dontcallmeshirley wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2024 9:04 am Encore doesn't need first officers because it's the captains that are leaving in droves.

Re: PAL and Air Canada CPA Agreement
How has PAL been doing with their Air Canada CPA arrangement? Are they going to build a hangar in Halifax? I expect they will be eating more of Jazzs cake if they do well. PAL has hangars, an FBO and an extensive foot print in YHZ that was there long before and goes well beyond their CPA. As far as...

If you hear a complaint about the seat whilst in flight, ask your colleague if they have been shown how to adjust the vertical position of the back rest (as opposed to the vertical position of the seat). Maybe hiring committees look for the old school type where it’s my way only. The type we get shown each year in CRM class of not to be. This is absolutely false. Could be true. They’re not offering position to a long time King Air training captain whose respected, gets along with everyone throughou...
