Re: CPL instrument flight time
Not true, you can include the time done in PPL or after the night rating. So if you finish your PPL with 5-ish hours of instrument you only need 15-ish for the CPL. Typically the night rating adds another 5 (10 total) and then you only need 10 more for the CPL (20 total). This is not correct. Ref C...

Re: CPL instrument flight time
Hey guys, I see in Canada you need 20hrs of IF for CPL not including what was done in PPL. What exactly do you do to make up the 20hrs? In NZ we only need 10hrs IF for CPL which includes 5 from PPL. If you go on to do an Instrument Rating after your CPL do you typically only need the extra 15-20 hr...

Re: Class 3 to class 2 upgrade (Urgent!)
Yes in the previous 12 months you need to have held a class 3 IR. Meaning you could've held it for a week or the full 12 months, as long as you have it. Going from 3 to 2 is the same scenario and same from 2 to 1.

Re: Where in Canada can you get an ICAO English assessment?
Most flight schools should be able to do it as lots of students from overseas have to get it before they can go solo.

Re: Advice for a low time (800hr) pilot who wants to return after medical break in flying.
If you enjoyed instructing, go and renew your Class 4, spend some time getting back into it and upgrade to class 3(its fairly easy as long you care about your job). Then renew your Group 1 with the school's a/c or sim (hopefully with a staff discount) then decide from there. If you did not like inst...
