Re: WestJet Mainline/Encore Hiring pool
I was pooled once. For the most part communication seemed great, updates from super Dave, emails from HR all good, "just waiting for numbers from marketing" then something happened, to this day still don't know what. Suddenly, no replies to VM or emails from ANYONE. Quit my job etc after discussions...

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?
Holy Crap, this forum has become the Lang / O'Leary of Jazz and aviation in Canada! Experts and analysts everywhere. EVERYTHING until tomorrow is a rumour people let's keep that in mind. Whatever has been built into the TA must be big and a real game changer for Jazz hence the very well kept secrets...

No more Short gate requests?
Heard an interesting and a little awkward exchange between a WJ flight and a YYC arrival controller. WJ said something to the effect of "just so you are aware, we are direct XYZ for the short gate" YYC " I understand" WJ " I'm not sure if we're supposed to ask or not but wanted you to know" YYC " I ...

How about Chorus takes a pro-active approach for once and bids on the Trans border flying.... I'm sure there is a clause somewhere in The CPA that won't allow it but I'm getting pretty tired of this sit back and react or do nothing at all approach that seems to be our "Management" style. The westjet hiring is all done for 2013 . . . . . So, does this mean there are no more initial g/s for 2013? Those in the pool remain there until the announcement of future courses? Unless they decide to disband the pool despite saying you're "hired", make you re-apply, and then decide to not hire ...

Re: Encore WACON released and surprise, it sucks
$84,000 minus what you have to put aside for your "pension". Benefits?? not sure how they work at WJ mainline or will at Encore. And isn't the ESP at Encore going to be less than Mainline? You say direct entry to Mainline is GOLD - agreed as WJ 737 interviews are a tough egg to crack. But when Q400'...

Love the "good Lucks"
I figured it was some hot shot in his Mustang or Premier running with the big boys but I flight aware'd the reg. and it's a guy in his Cherokee.
I'm sure it was her instruments, after all, "lots of people tell me how reliable my instruments are".

Carson Air does Medevacs in and out of Nelson (3100') so 3400' should be fine, just might not see them in the Summer. PP if you have questions regarding facilitating Medevacs, go to the source and give Carson Air a call.

Factor in the 2 a.m. call in the middle of a Saskatchewan Winter to go single pilot to La Loche into that pay scale though.....
That being said, I've heard it is a great gig for the right people and a brand new B200 to help you.

Cool shots but I I can't for the life of me figure out how you did it - particularly in the tight spots like on the bridge... I saw the camera's shadow on the end of the blade but no sign of a rope or rope shadow - I figured maybe you got it to spin from inside but couldn't see you and couldn't see ...

Buss, You must have been bored to pull that one up from 4 years ago. It was a great story to use in my interview and it opened up a great discussion between ...

I can understand chasing the left seat when you need PIC for the next job, a pay cheque above $25,000 or an ATPL. At this stage I look at it from the perspective that I will be making a decent salary at a great company and the job chasing is over. I got a late start, definitely later than most, so i...
