Re: Jet fuel prices/layoffs

Post covid AC has only done very light fuel hedging. For the first 6 months of 2026, only 17% of their fuel is hedged at around $.70/L. (the price has since doubled) They haven't released any other forward guidance on hedging so I imagine that's the extent of it. AC hedging policy allows them to go ...

Re: pAtTeRn bArGaInIng

We took a costly, permanent concession to barely beat WJ pay during the most opportunistic moment in the history of this profession. What are we trading away next round to get Flair starting pay?! Can you quantify that "costly" concession? How much has it cost you? Because there would have been ZER...

That's been explained a million times in emails, roadshows, Q&A's, council meetings, podcasts etc. We exchanged variable pay for guaranteed income. How dumb are you guys?

Re: Does anyone know what the MEC is actually trying to get out of the ULP?

If elected, our union would be decimated, left in shambles, directionless and without any sort of unity. Don’t think for a moment that any individual Chair, Rep, or Exec is so indispensable that the union cannot function without them. If losing a few elected positions truly “decimates” the organiza...

Re: Does anyone know what the MEC is actually trying to get out of the ULP?

I'd like to know who is going to pay for this common employer application? 5-10 years of litigation, the only ones laughing here are the blood sucking lawyers! There's no way I want my dues money going towards something so pointless and divisive. Your own MEC is split on the issue. Get your house in...

Re: How would you have voted if...

No one is taking this group seriously anymore to lead us. Everyone I've spoken with feels betrayed, whether they voted yes or not, and we've rapidly devolved into a cynical attitude about ALPA. That doesn't bode well going forward and I bet management is thrilled with this outcome. So stop stroking...

Re: 67% yes

42% over 4 years is a record deal. Just because it doesn't solve junior pay 100% to your satisfaction doesn't change the fact that this is an industry leading contract. Enjoy your 30% instant pay raise, your retro pay, and be ready to answer more surveys and picket again in 2.5 years. Rinse and repe...

Re: TA ratification

Literally had the leader of the Conservatives party supporting the pilots and this MEC managed to come out with less than Flair starting pay And you believe him? The politicians are on our side until they aren't. They said they wouldn't interfere with the port workers, they did. Said they wo...

Re: 17 days??!!!

Not that long ago those on flat play would have been trudging around in a Navajo covered in ice for 25k. I did that but the difference is that I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I can't relate to the mindset at all that would want other people to have to do that just because I did. I just can't wrap my ...

Re: 17 days??!!!

You guys are a bunch of dummies!! After taking it on the chin for 20 years, AC pilots finally join ALPA to benefit from all their tremendous resources and knowledge. You elect a number of highly respected peers to lead this profession out of the gutter. They appoint a negotiating committee, who by a...
