Re: The TA

Holy Fock. Get off their thread already... I was simply pointing out that there is in fact a DBM, not saying it couldn't be better, for these guys to have an accurate comparison. Go work on your comprehension. No you weren't. I spelled it out for you 10 posts ago and you continued being a dense twa...

Re: The TA

Monthly MBG at Air Canada is DBM dependent and between 60 and 72 hours for block holders, between 68 and 82 hours for reserve pilots. First two pay steps FO/RP are guaranteed higher of above or 75 hours. Depending on fleet, pilots are also guaranteed overseas and nav pay. 71 hours on WBs, 10 hours ...

Is Claude going to Hawaii this Christmas?

Just chatting with a couple friends on the WJ MEC, and wow… the reputation of the Jazz MEC leadership, especially Claude, is absolutely in the gutter across ALPA. So genuinely, where is the recall at? How long does this circus keep going? As someone who flew at Jazz in a previous life, it is honestl...

Re: Emirates after AC

Sure, it's a fact, pre tax like you said, so who gives a shit... It's very simple, what do I take home, and what is my cost of living. Black and white, EK wins, and that you can't deny. Pretty much everywhere else wins when it comes to taxes for wage earners in this country... it's brutal. There ar...

Re: Nice

In all honesty, shouldn't Air Canada be able to whoop Delta with their vastly cheaper costs on pilots & labour? Aren't Air Canada pilots the cheapest North American legacy pilots there is?? Shouldn't the company be able to take advantage of this and just be able to out price Delta and their much sup...

Re: Recall of MEC Chair & Vice Chair

How can you call yourself “results-based” and brag about WestJet +2%? Then it’s “be ready to fight” — but in the same breath you say AC pilots should pattern bargain off ULCCs… which actually have higher starting pay. So not only was there no fight, the union didn’t even pattern bargain for entry-le...

Re: Recall of MEC Chair & Vice Chair

US ALPA got its gains from the luxury of pattern bargaining, backed by a clear pilot supply crunch... and they patterned off real legacy carriers, not low-cost start-ups or brand-new contracts. Air Canada pilots trying to pattern bargain off WestJet’s second contract or a financially shaky Air Trans...

No. AC pilots converted corporate performance based variable incentives into guaranteed money.
Lol...

So you cant have both...

Like every other legacy carrier.

Imagine coming on here as some old crusty pilot who was apart of the greatest erosion this profession has ever seen and then start trying to blame flight attendants after they actually took a stand against the company.

Imagine.

Re: Delta bought some of WJ because the pilots are so cheap?

My understanding of vacation.

WJ is credited a week as 5 days so credit value of week equals 5 times 4.5 hrs equals 22:30 of pay

AC is 7 times 3:45 so equals 26:15 of pay

So AC nearly 4 hrs more pay per week...

WJ definitely not better...

Re: Delta bought some of WJ because the pilots are so cheap?

Just want to point out that your and most credit systems are based on flight time and duty time, for example your easy YYC-YEG-YYC pairing for 1.5 flight time has a duty time of at best around 5 hours assuming a quick turn. You are at work for around 120 hours on a 80 credit month, I use the simple...

Re: Delta bought some of WJ because the pilots are so cheap?

Not sure what the kind of financial situation the average Westjet FO/ recent hire is in with such low pay to fly a 737 or even 787 Last year as a WJ 737 FO with 2.5 years of Service ($91/hr half the year, and then $116/hr the other half) my T4 said 170k. This year will be 200k+ Yes I did lots of OT...

Re: ALPA signing new agreements with training bonds

All you shills supporting training bonds shouldn't even be allowed to be represented by a union. You are a detriment to the profession. Pilots literally would be better off if you weren't involved in this line of work. Think about that for a sec. You're actual existence in a cockpit is a liability t...

Here's the relationships: Corporation: Will extract as much from you for as little as possible. Watch out for pilot shills who buy into this. Not to be trusted. Union: Fight for collective agreements that allow members to work as little as possible for as much as possible. Be wary of saviors who say...

3) can someone name a time when career regional pilots were given DOH seniority at a major airline.

Air Canada pilots seem obsessed with rationalizing legacy airline worst pay.

Comparing themselves to garbage men, fast food workers, etc to justify bad starting pay and terrible productivity.

Re: Recall of MEC Chair & Vice Chair

The same guy who led a recall promptly got himself in on the MEC. Has the optics of a little self serving. And then somehow ended up with 2 votes out of 10 via a proxy. An Air Canada pilot wage is good in Winnipeg, I'll admit it. Plus we don't have to commute for more than a bit of a drive. It is w...
