How can an employee group settle after a strike?
I thought Peak Leverage was before shutdown?!
And I thought the cost of the strike would come out of the package offered to the employees?!
All I know is that they better say yes or they will get minimum wage!

Re: Poll: What is the most embarrassing aspect of the Air Canada pilot contract?
Should add the endless rationalization & projection by some who can't seem to come to terms with reality that this was a World Class Fail. Union reps with fingerprints on this fiasco need to go.

So when is Peak Leverage?!
Air Transat issued strike notice and got better starting pay, 100% deadhead, vacation credit of 4.5 hrs, long call reserve, open time 1.5x pay, 4.5 hrs for reporting, better monthly guarantee all while not giving away their profit sharing. All while being barely profitable and negotiating during "ec...

Jesus Christ... Listen to all the hapless cry babies... Re: Recall of MEC Chair & Vice Chair
Pretty hard to fly a contract that takes a labour lawyer to interpret. This contract is a pile of shit. We all know it. Pay went up. Sure. Not so much for us new hires though. It's almost by design no one knows how to "fly the contract" and then you get some sarcastic one word DART response. Pretty ...

Lol...I would stick to North American legacy carriers and their strategies. They got the best contracts in the world.
Flying CRJs at mainline with terrible FO wages & working conditions isn't one of them

Re: Encore hiring Foreign Workers??
Canada brought thousands of truck drivers in through the TFW program and those guys are consummate professionals who have exemplary safety records. I am not the least bit concerned. When was the last time you saw a truck from Brampton rolled over in the ditch on the 401 or caught smuggling 300kg of...

Another profitable year for the airlines! :D Great to see the profit share cheques but have to ask, what will Air Canada pilots get with the profitability of the company? We compare ourselves to whatever is the flavor of the day. Worst case we compare ourselves to garbage men and then when they get paid more...you say "well then become a garbage man".
Really inspiring union stuff.

Re: We won't leave a penny on the table!!
Does it cost Canada Post that much to go on strike? Similar to other government jobs like teachers, nurses, etc. The main expense would be labour I’d assume? With AC, there is a lot more hemorrhaging going on if a strike did occur, no? Hence, making a strike a lot more effective as the employer has...

This TA was voted in yes...but not because the majority actually believed this deal was good. It was rammed down their throat worst than anything Heather Brooke ever took. There needs to be changes to the leadership if there is going to be any hope of a re-energized group in the future. Many have lo...

Re: WestJet Encore applies for LMIA to hire foreign pilot
If only monopoly mail service was as important as air travel. Then pilots could be allowed to strike without being sent back to work. (Sarcastic statement, both professions should be allowed to strike uninterrupted) The only pilot group in recent history to get "forced back to work" was Air Canada ...

On behalf of the Executives, I want to thank the pilots of Air Canada in their approval of this contract so we can continue to rise together. Re: Air Canada Pilot Incentive Bonus
The Minister of Labour sending the Port Workers to binding arbitration shows that the Government would have intervened had there been a strike at AC. This validates the MEC's decision to let the negotiators work until the 11th hour, access the situation at that moment, and ultimately and put the TA...
