Re: Overdue Cargo Airplane Bound for CYXS

I don't see it. The cargo door hinge is hidden by the vertical stab fairing. Can you please highlight what you are seeing?
I too don't feel it was a cargo door failure, but I don't see what you see.

Re: Overdue Cargo Airplane Bound for CYXS

It appears to be an outboard section of wing with the aileron attached - It's the outboard RH wing - I can see the SAS probe hanging from the end of the wing. The RH flap is just fwd of the LH wing. There are parts that do show what looks like fire damage, however - we are dealing with an inflight b...

Re: Overdue Cargo Airplane Bound for CYXS

If the wing spar carry thru AD was completed properly, I cant see it failing. It is also subject to a recurring inspection. However I have seen the wing to fuselage skin attachments crack again even after repair, and have seen the castings inside the aircraft cracked. During the scraping of a Metro ...

Re: Overdue Cargo Airplane Bound for CYXS

The Metro wing has a very strong continuous spar from one side to the other. The fuselage is more likely to depart the wing than the wing is to seperate into 2 parts.

Hi all,
I am not a pilot, but is it possible the GPS was navigating off of magnetic north and not true north?

The artical is about night vision goggles not FLIR. With FLIR you dont need any ilumination at all and can also be used in full daylight.

What about all the Canadian contracts for building parts for the F35? If we opt out I am sure the contracts will go elswhere. I havent heard any figures about how much income Canadian based companies are making which would offset some of the cost of this fighter.

Re: Aztec down at CYFD

Good point. As everyone knows, compliance with the regulations is the most important thing in aviation - it doesn't matter if you crash. AFAIK there is no regulation that says you cannot take off a twin with one engine shut down. So, this guy was obeying all regulations, therefore he must have been...

Where I work we use this as a guide to tasks that can be signed by an "E" license. And an "E" license would find very little information for them in any type course I have taken. As a matter of fact it would be hard for them to pass the engine portions. http://www.tc.gc.ca/CivilAviation/maintenance/...
