Re: How will the ATPL changes affect the industry?
How will this take long to process? Do you have any other licenses or what? I don't understand what it is your getting at other than perhaps a gut feeling they're going to be slow. Every license rating and PPC I've had, they wrote down in your booklet when it was valid. During covid they began allow...

The card view is retarded on the phone. I would prefer information. Not style.

Re: How will the ATPL changes affect the industry?
I dont think it'll change things as much as some here seem to imply. Get the time in the book, write the exams, get the 'restricted' atpl sitting right seat in a KingAir. Upgrade time comes, do a 2 pilot ride from the left seat, and the examiner grants removal of the restriction. You won’t have any...

Re: How will the ATPL changes affect the industry?
I don't understand the problem with just going in a sim. How is it a problem? You want to upgrade? Sim session. Successful. Fill out this form. Submit to tc. You now qualify for atpl. If you can do PICUS. Why can't you do PICUS PPC? you do your PPL CPL MULTI IFR as pic. And the law states for the pu...

Re: Claiming SARON & SAMRA on your income tax?
I have not claimed them on my taxes. Because I don't have them. But I have claimed every written test up to my INRAT and IATRA. My tax accountant says any and all things used on the way to education is to be claimed. No matter the industry. I had to get a job description from my company stating that...

Re: Medical privacy disclosure
There must be some kind of limitation on record keeping for medical stuff. You can't just @#$! up a 50 year old career because they had a concussion at age 12 because they were playing hockey.

Re: Medical privacy disclosure
My issue is the scope of this. To have unlimited access without warrant is seemingly against the law. As in the charter should limit the government here. I'm no lawyer though. If the cops needed to search your house, they'd need a warrant, and for that they'd need an acceptable reason. This medical ...

Re: Winter Gear - Gloves, etc
Its got thinsulate on the inside, plus an actual rating on the gloves. Most companies sell you "warmth level 5". But never say what temperature. I was outside for hours today shoveling my driveway and the back alley. Hands were fine. I also worked 8 hours plus outside in every weather condition for ...

Winter Gear - Gloves, etc
I picked up a set of gloves from Grainger the other day. They are fantastic. Rated for -25°C. They're $40. I'm ordering another pair that has a set of gauntlets on them for $60. https://www.superiorglove.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/378TXTVB-Top.jpg They might not be sexy, but if you work in Nunav...

Re: Temporary 'Foreign' Pilots??
They're training in countries like Australia, New Zealand, UK, etc. But yes they do want to work here, they have tracked the amount of applications. This government is actively working against doctors that can take their skills to other countries and get paid more. But this is all besides the point....

Re: Temporary 'Foreign' Pilots??
Wait until you find out what they're doing with doctors. Government is paying hospitals 100k each to hire foreign doctors while Canadian doctors who train abroad can't get a job in Canada because they're not bribing the hospitals 100k each. True story. But why do we need to do it? Because we have a ...
