Re: Canadian North Reductions
5T just picked up some work for Transat Holidays flying -300's to Cancun and San Jose Del Cabo from YYC and YEG. EnerJet is still flying a decent amount for them aswell.

Re: YEG 12-30
I guess the United Airbuses from DEN (same as YYC), IAH and EWR are still unidentifiable by student pilots.
Better get on that.
That'll be a critical mistake when told "follow the United A320". Just sayin....

The funniest thing just happend to the "spoke".
The only first/business class offered from Alberta to LAX.
Pretty odd for the "spoke" of Alberta. Wouldn't you say?

Re: Did Purolator dump KFL for Cargojet??
^ 757-300 Freighter?
If so that would be the first 757-300 freighter in service since they are used as passenger versions by just a few carriers.
That must be typo in the release?

Re: Did Purolator dump KFL for Cargojet??
CargoJet just signed a lease for two more 767-200ERF's a few days ago aswell bringing the 762F fleet upto 4.
And as mentioned they are obtaining the larger 767-300F's also. The 757's have been getting deployed on former 727 runs so I am not sure if the 727's will be kept to expand the network or not.

Re: Did Purolator dump KFL for Cargojet??
so is Cargojet moving towards some new machines? whats going on with all this? What does KFC plan to do with all the '27's and DC10's.. I know they had an ad out for SO's recently. Does that mean an inevitable lay off when the contract comes to an end in march? CargoJet is phasing in more 757's and...

Re: Air Canada 787-8...???
The first batch of 788's is slightly delayed due to a part shortage from a manufacturer.
The first should be delivered in the next couple of weeks according to a source on another forum.

Re: Sunwing Split Scimitar Winglets
Very cool indeed, Also notice they are launching some longer range flights from Western Canada (Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver) to Punta Cana D.R (YEG,YYC and YVR) and Liberia C.R (YEG and YVR) seems those are out of the 738's range. Are they wet leasing some longer range metal for winter 2014/15?

Re: Air Transat - 738 Or A320 This Year?
Transat has agreed to the reduction of staff on its A330 flights by reducing cabin staff from 11 to 10 to reduce costs. First A310-300 leaves the fleet this summer. With on average 1-2 per year to eliminated leading to eventual removal of the type from the fleet. First 737-800 should join the fleet ...

Re: Air Transat - 738 Or A320 This Year?
Looks like this summer won't see CanJet operating the summer flights to Mexico from YEG,YYC and YVR. Enerjet will instead operate its 737-700's for transat for the low season. YEG-YYC-CUN 1x weekly YEG-YYC-PVR. 1x weekly YVR-CUN 1x weekly YVR-PVR 1x weekly All operated by Enerjet from May to October.

Re: Air Transat - 738 Or A320 This Year?
To replace the A310's? Not true... To cut costs associated with using CanJet 737's? True. The airline wants to operate its own fleet of aircraft in the 150-180 seat class and it sounds like the 737-800 will be the choice although one would think A320 to keep the fleet somewhat in the Airbus lineage.

I also recall seeing a Beech 99 in timeair/Canadian Regional colors for a time operating from YXD-YOD in the early 90's.

Re: Gabon Airlines YYC?
Well looks like Air Transat got some of the deal aswell, there is a A330-200 and a A310-300 ''trooping'' out of YEG today aswell. Even with the C-17's entering service its still common use for the DND to charter IL-76's and AN-124's.I can understand the AN-124's for oversize or very large loads. But t...

Re: Gabon Airlines YYC?
What you saw was a HiFly A340-300 (not a A330) operating a troop charter from YYC.The airplane is on wet lease to Gabon Airlines and as such is wearing the airlines titles until the wet lease is up.HiFly has been using the jet into YYC on occasion for the charters.

On a side note Avitat is set to take the space and hanger currently being built by a contractor just south of the Shell Aerocentre next to 02-20.
