Re: AIRAF Tips?
Question about G-LOC. I need to review this, the answer was not G-LOC. A pilot is pulling positive Gs and temporarly loses his vision while still staying conscious. What is this called? G-LOC, Red Out, Grey Out. I think it's grey out. Sounds EXACTLY like The Wise Pilot exams. Also, to answer your q...

Re: It’s Time - Back on track
One was CP/CN rail. The only reason the union pursue a claim is because they have being ordered to because, quote "when the union lay in the same bed as the employer, the union is no longer a union and should not act as one", as they straight out, blatantly, refuse to file ANY grievance. Do you hav...

Did anyone used Harv's air instructor ground school?
So I decided to open a new question about it as more information came to light that completely changed the previous one, which I deleted. Here is the scenario - I got Harv's Air record of ground school. One school said their examiner has issue with it, which I initially couldn't figure out why. I go...

Re: It’s Time - Back on track
Union is bad, really bad. They can easily through you under the bus. During and after the plandemic we saw all time high claim against unions for improper representation that were found justified. Too many went in bed with the employers without attempting to fight it. I personally, on a different m...

Re: Inop nav light & 605.10
Imagine if the school new and didn't fix it? The examiner will be pissed he wasted their time and if it is a reoccurs, may not want to go back to this school. Another option, if possible, is to switch airplane. We did it in the US, where it's much harder to switch airplane during checkride day (due ...

Re: Will Jazz try the TFW route?
Now that Encore got government approval for TFW(temporary foreign worker) to help alleviate its Captain shortage, how long before Jazz tries the same thing? I seriously doubt it. They have denied me because I have open work permit. They want either a permanent resident (which I am waiting for, slow...

Re: Porter application time
Anyone that applied in January and got a call back? My application is stuck with ‘under review’. 1200TT 300 hours multi IFR turbine That is actually not bad. They have a different timing for Dash and E2. E2 have higher requirement, thus less candidate, thus more likely to be contacted faster. Same ...

Anyone that applied in January and got a call back? My application is stuck with ‘under review’. 1200TT 300 hours multi IFR turbine got a call for E2 but not dash even though dash went under review way before. Looks pretty slow. It is. Since more people are under the TT for the Dash 8 and less for ...

Re: What was your hardest and easiest licence/rating?
The CPEAR, hardest thing ever. Even though I never finished the CPL in Canada. In terms of actual flying - the Power off 180 in the States. It's by far harder than in Canada as you only get +100/-0, and there is no scoring, it's either a pass or a fail, and I had nearly 35 kts HW, and my C172 went ...

Re: AIRAF Tips?
I haven't heard anyone getting below a 90 using it (sample size of like 5 people). Low 90's if you relied on that almost exclusively and high 90's if you studied the majority of the info in the guide. I'll believe it when TC's prehistoric computer software shows me those exact questions though lol....

Re: AIRAF Tips?
Hi everyone, I have my AIRAF on friday and was wondering if anyone has any tips for how to be successful on the exam? I've been using the FIG, FTM, Flight Test Guides, CAR's and Standards, AIM, FTGU, light use of the Human Factors Handbooks, and Sharper's Edge keynotes for studying. I also of cours...

Re: PTR questions about finishing a CPL in Canada from FAA-Land
Cheaper option might be to finish your CPL in the States (I did just that). You got the hours, all you need is the proper training (The Big Four as I like to call them - Chandelles, Lazy Eights, Eight on Pylons and the hardest one - the Power off 180), the written and sign off. Might be easier this ...

Re: Flight Test Examiner Requirements
The Pilot Examiner Manual details the requirements and can be downloaded for free. The first consideration is that TC identifies a need for another PE in your area. I would start by sending an email to your region indicating you would like to be considered for the PE accreditation PE's tend to fall...

Re: Flight Test Examiner Requirements
There are two types of pilot examiners, regular one and instructor rating examiner one. The latter is, by far, harder to get, and in many places it will be Transport Canada inspector that conduct the exam. https://tc.canada.ca/en/aviation/publications/pilot-examiner-manual-seventh-edition-tp-14277#r...

Re: Seeking Examiner - Group 1 - GTA
Back in the day, CFA/Toronto airways used to have around 5-6 examiners, one with instruction examination authority. With the exception of the current school CEO (which is also an examiner), they are all freelancers so you can ask them if they can come to Caledon.

Re: When Albert separate, will it keep Canadian licensing or go the FAA route?
No, that's jail. There is no rehab plan. We can talk about forced rehab when VOLUNTARY rehab is actually accessible and not 2 sessions 6 months down the road. That's also not his housing plan. Can you let me know FEDERALLY what roadblocks are in place? Housing in provincial/municipal. Thanks for ad...
