Re: Air Canada: the numbers came back, but did the company?

Comparing the pre-Covid 2019 boom to the ElbowsUp era is not apples to apples.

Costs are way up but people are not spending as much, so it makes sense that the profit is down.

Re: Flair Pilots Better Starting & Top End Pay Now?!

Add that The best part about this is that: At $80k: Every extra $1 earned might cost about 28-31 cents in tax. At $350k: Every extra $1 earned might cost about 53-54 cents in tax So most of the large increase didn't even go to the Senior pilot, it went to the government. I can't believe with all tha...

Not helpful because we aren't spoon feeding the answers to you? Answers that are littered all over this very forum by lazy people like you who simply refuse to do a very quick browse of even the first page of this forum. I wonder if that laziness translates to your work ethic. Are you the type to n...

Good grief how many freakin threads are needed on the topic of hiring at AC? There's about a hundred others and ya'll keep adding more. Your lack of initiative in doing a bit of reading is astonishing. Definitely not qualities AC or any other airline is looking for I'm sure. Stop being lazy, be the...

Re: Air Canada breaks negotiated 50 aircraft Rouge cap

Is this a flight attendant forum? There's no 50 fin cap as far as pilots are concerned. There's a ratio to mainline narrow bodies and it would be north of 100 aircraft. It's the same job and pay at this point from the pilot perspective. There's nothing new here either, fleet plans have showed 52 73...

Interview -> Medical -> Job Offer Wait Times

I have heard of several different timelines for the interview to medical to job offer wait times.

To those who have recently been hired (or rejected), what was the wait time between the different stages of your hiring process?

A lot of FAs are wonderful people to work with though. The vast majority of them actually. CUPE may have flaws but they stood up to Section 107 after our union was too chicken to do it. For that all Canadian organized labour groups owe them a huge thank you. All I think of when I hear CUPE is Fred ...

Re: YYC or YEG base?

YUL and YVR are "smaller" by comparison (but both are bigger crew bases than YOW, although YOW has the maintenance hangar). They won't be closing anytime soon. Porter's plan on acquiring partners/codeshares to build the brand is part of the growth plan. Not too many international partners out of YQ...

After reapplying it was about 6 weeks until I heard back. Was able to click the top boxes with those times as well, but no degree. Currently ...

10% of company goes AR in next 3 years. I can see mgmt really wanting to get rid of it in this economic environment. There's a lot of complaining about the TC rules breaking the hiring requirements for airlines and making it more difficult for them to find qualified pilots. There's not a lot of thought going on. An increase in fuel prices will not lead to layoffs.

If you want to be worried about layoffs, look at the economy. If people aren't buying tickets, then you have a revenue issue, and then you have need to a reduction in flights.

@jazzstuart I can see that you are spending more time reporting people cuz it makes you feel better about yourself. Learn to fly a hold. It’s the same in any aircraft type. Ask for 10 mile legs. Less turning, but you’ll learn that once you actually go above flight level 250 Auto-pilot and FMS make ...
