Just fyi here is the difference between W80 and W80+ to the best of my knowledge quoted from the Shell global website. "AeroShell Oil W100 Plus and W80 Plus already contain the Lycoming additive LW 16702 in the correct proportions and meets Lycoming requirements as well as the US Federal Aviation Au...

Lycoming MZ4---- Series starters
Is anyone having issues with new/overhauled MZ4220/4222 starters? It seems we are having a lot of problems with bendix's that will not engage.
I realize in a flight school the starters will take a beating but even still they are failing at an alarming rate. Any suggestions or thoughts.
thanks,

Re: Recurring Defects
We made it a procedure during inspections and snag rectifications for the engineer to review the logs to see if the defect was recurring. In the snag rectification a (RECURRING DEFECT) is typed in under the snag to let the flight crew know. Seems to work well when maintenance gets used to the idea. ...

new short field landings I guess
"said the airplane landed safely at the gate without incident"
now if it was a flight from Toronto to Moncton that would be a better diversion

Floatplane Incident Ottawa River Sept 28 or 29th
I include this story to show how badly reporting is: Ottawa man, grandson safe after wing snaps off float plane A pilot says he is happy that he and his grandson are safe and after making an emergency landing on the Gatineau River in the man’s float plane. Pilot Michael Miles said the small plane cl...

Re: TCM IO-240B low oil pressure
We looked into getting the higher capacity oil cooler and found that there were none available and had not been for a while. (not to mention hellish price) Changed an oil pressure gauge today that had a 20 psi error in it. My suggestion before you go and invest in a new oil pressure gauge is to have...

Re: TCM IO-240B low oil pressure
If this is a diamond aircraft I can add a few things. Oil pressure gauges in the diamond are very inaccurate. Perhaps even if not a diamond check the calibration of your gauge. Diamond now sells them as a transducer/gauge kit which is supposed to be better :? . We usually tie the sender into ...

Thanks for the info on the engines. I could not remember the full incident.
"eyewitness" on CNN says the gear hit either on or close to the break wall. Least ways they are not saying the wings were ripped off.

Re: A Boeing 777 Has Crash-Landed At San Francisco Internati
CNN shows a debris field from the waters edge in the lead up to runway. Reports are aircraft pitched up. An "eyewitness" says he saw the aircraft cartwheel and loose both wings (cant figure that one as both wings appear to be still attached). Tail section from rear bulkhead aft is gone. was it a 777...

perhaps you should refer your guys to the TCM SB 97-3E which lays out most of the idle speeds, fuel pressures etc for the TCM motors. The colonel is correct with regards to the 360 engine, most idle speeds are either 600 or 700 depending on model. link http://www.tcmlink.com/pdf2/SID97-3E.pdf for de...
