Re: Why do Canadian airport IDs all start with "Y"??
Not all airports in Canada use the CY prefix. Many use 'CZ' (CZBF, CZBM, CZMT, CZNL, etc) while others use an alpha-numerical combination (CAA8, CBS8, CFG6, etc)

Sad to hear about Bob's passing. Worked with him on dozens - if not hundreds - of occasions and have nothing but positive things to say about his professionalism and due diligence towards flying as well as his pleasant personality.
A big loss to the S. Ont flying community.

Re: Use of Aux. fuel tank on a Business Jet
Didn't think it would be permitted.
What then would be a feasible routing for the owner/operator of a limited range acft to go YVR-HNL? YVR-ANC-ADK-MDY-HNL?
I suspect that MDY would be difficult based on the AIP comments regarding PPR and limited night ops due to birds.

Use of Aux. fuel tank on a Business Jet
Wondering about the legalities of installing a temporary aux. fuel tank to extend the range of a business jet. My understanding is that aux. fuel tanks are permitted for ferry flights only with a max of 2 people on board: 1 pilot & 1 navigator. Is that correct? However, say that one wanted to take t...
