Sunwing AME's as employees alternate between days and nights (12 hour shifts). Contractors (currently) work nights Mon to Thurs (10 hour shifts). Since Air Canada is still hiring AME's Sunwing as well as other companies are losing AME's. If you are a younger licensed AME looking for experience then ...

Re: 35 people injured on AC flight.
As a passenger I always fasten my seat belt (when seated in my seat) but here are times on a long flight when I have a need to get out of my seat. Usually it is to use the washroom. I try to use the washroom when there is no line up. If I sit too long I have a need to stretch my legs and get my circ...

Re: PORTER COMMUTER AME
I doubt anyone will respond. If you are an ACA on the Q400 the pay will be good and the rent is free (poor choice of words). Twelve hour shifts, nights. Plus there is always the $15 ($25??)K bonus (taxable) when you join. and if you know the Q the work is not that hard......(hard to believe unless y...

Re: Part-time flying gig while working for a Major?
"Air Canada won’t let you fly commercially on your time off since it restricts your duty times and max flying hours. Recreational flying is ok though"
How does that apply to being a chief pilot? For another company? While working for AC?

Re: Sunwing Q400's?
Some are Ex Republic aircraft. They still have the N registration on them (which you can trace back to Republic). As well ex Flybe machines. There is at least one customer that I know of taking the Q's from Skyservice. The link for Flybe is 3 years old and completely out of date. Flybe has Q400's bu...

Re: Metrolinx orders from Bombardier Competitor - GOOD!
Well.... Q400 sales are down........ On the other hand Global production is ramping up and employees are slowly being recalled (as evidence by the recent departure of recent hires (a few anyway) from AC and Westjet). Challenger sales are still good...unline that of the RJ's. If the Combi CRJ at Fiel...

I can tell you what a newly licenced Ame did recently. Went from Porter to Encore then Cargojet. More money at Cargojet (and closer to home). A pilot friend tells me that Fo's at CJ make more than captains at Air Georgian (and Encore). Cargojet has agreement with AC for cargo. And Cargojet is gettin...
