Re: FA STRIKE LOOMING?
Yikes... A and B scales is a horrible idea. Anyone remember how well that worked out at Jazz? Can you imagine what that would feel like working beside someone that is on a completely different and higher wage scale? Cut costs elsewhere...

Re: New Livery
I think it is different... Don't hate it and don't love it. I think it would have been fun if they chose 4-6 different neon tones as the colour accents instead of just the hospital green (orange, purple, yellow, blue etc). I certainly think it is an improvement over that awkward purple paint and WAY...

We still see lots of passengers that believe they can use them on-board the aircraft, that or they try to use them in the lav.

Up to 12 pilots and up to 30 Flight Attendants. Bunch of office staff laid off as well. Everyone is cheering for the cheap gas but anyone connected to the Oil & Gas industry is facing tough times. Hopefully this down turn doesn't last too long.

FA 1/50
Haven't heard a lot of buzz on the whole Flight Attendant ratio 1/40 versus 1/50 exemption? Heard 5T passed their Evacuation Test, who is next?

You guys are so classy...
The flights are for Celebrity Cruises. I believe Celebrity sells them as a package deal and 5T is the air carrier. I think its neat to see the polar bear in MIA and FLL.

Re: 1 in 50 FA rule compromises safety. TC Sunwing test
That means... whithin the exemtion request airlines have to state that NO JOBS WILL BE LOST as a result of the exemption being granted. Your interpretation of public interest? Or is that official? Strikes me the opposite is true. Nope, that would be official. It has to be in the exemption request d...

Re: 1 in 50 FA rule compromises safety. TC Sunwing test
If it was less safe the exemptions would not be approved. The problem is that the regulations are very out of date and the only recourse until they are up to date is to apply for an exemption. I can think of a few exemptions that actually make things safer. Word on the street is that due to the high...

Re: 1 in 50 FA rule compromises safety. TC Sunwing test
+1 Also. A lot of people don't know this, but in making this exemption request to TC the Air Operator has to pass what is called the 5.9(2) test. That means, in a nut shell. You have to prove that the granted exemption will not compromise safety AND will not negatively effect the public interest. Th...

A new start up airline out of YVR?
Hey All,
I heard that WJ informed their troops that they are concerned about a new start up out of YVR with airbuses? According to WJ "these guys are what WJ was in 1996".
That was the first I heard about it, anyone on here know anything? I cant seem to find anything on a new YVR start up.

Can we please stay away from sentiments like "biscut shooter" or the like. If thats what you think of your FA, you should stick to floats or doing bag runs.

Wow. I am a little embarrassed, as a Jew I don’t see how or where they were treated differently than anyone else. I find it SO interesting that 15, 16, 17 year old teenagers are using the words "stewardess" and "air stewardess"... For crying out loud those terms stopped being used over 40 years ago ...

Re: Air Canada Rouge cabin crew to pay for their training
In the interest of transparency... Flight Attendant training does not cost $1400 (approx) to an airline. The actual cost depend heavily on time and diversity of fleet but in Canada that will range from $11,000 to $20,000+. It sounds like Rouge is more trying to subsidise the training from the employ...
