Re: Could high oil prices be a good thing?
From what i read about hydrogen fueled vehicles their range is also limited, appx 300 km/tank. This due to the low power of hydrogen for a given volume. Also it takes more electricity to extract hydrogen from water than you can get out of the hydrogen fuel. So if the electricity is generated by coal...

I think most rampies in Yellowknife make 30 a year, usually long waits but its enough to pay the bills.

The massive amounts of money to create enough hydrogen fuel stations beg the question, why not use electricity?

No one is immune from making mistakes.
I wish I was arrogant enough to say that nothing bad will ever happen while i'm in control of an aircraft, being in a deluded world such as that would be wonderfully simple, as would be the person making such a statement.

Only 12,000 people have signed the petition to remove the system access fee. That fee is a blatant cash grab. If you agree don't just read the posts, SIGN THE PETITION!

Re: Seneca College Baron Gear Up Landing
The gear horn on some planes won't go off until you pull the power off in the flair, i believe the baron was below 17 inches or so. Not really effective as a safety device but at 17 inches in the baron with no gear you would be cooking right along.

Re: Pilots say they feel pressure to cut back on fuel
A Cathay employee once told me that for them to land with an 'extra' ton of fuel, on a long trans oceanic flight, they would have to depart with 3 'extra' tons of fuel. Not sure how accurate that is (we were in a bar during the discussion...).

I kept getting those collection letters and just ignored them, then when I got my tax return there was a debit for 110.00 So if you ignore them long enough eventually they'll just do what they used to with dead beat pilots like me

It was my understanding that you have until the first day of the 25th month to meet all of the requirements, as well as have your ATPL signed off by transport. In any other circumstance you must rewrite the exams. For the iatra, obtain a ppc on an aircraft requiring an iatra, or rewrite.
