Porter and flying the Dash-8-400
I have a few questions. For the Porter pilots, do you enjoy flying there? Do you enjoy the Dash-8-400? Is the flying interesting? Where are your favorite routes, or ones that you dislike? Is the pay still pretty good? Are there more growth opportunities? How many legs do you fly per day, and do you ...

Thanks for crushing my dreams. So who flies these planes anyway? Where are they based? Canada or Europe?

Canjet
I saw one of their 738s in MBJ that had a TUI paintscheme. Will that plane go back to Europe for the Summer? Do Canjet pilots go to Europe also in the Summer and back to Canada in the Summer? Are they hiring? What is it like flying for Canjet? How are the rosters? Cheers!

Re: Pros and Cons for Bearskin and Wasaya please...
If I am not mistaken, the PC12 crews are very well compensated for when they are away on Hydro trips/overnights? Thats an understatement, I don't know of any other carrier that is a similair size and scope that pays their crews the same rate for flying that they do for sitting or in this case eatin...

If these airlines start hiring for the Summer, which would be a better job, which plane would a newhire go to, and what about pay scales? Any current pilots with something to add please? Thanks, Bill

Westwind Aviation at Saskatoon.....anyone?
I have heard recently that this airline flies a lot out of Saskatoon, and has a fairly diverse fleet, including J31s, ATRs, BE1900s, BE200s, and even Citations? Does anyone know anything about flying for this outfit? I have seen they do flights up to uranium mines up North I believe. Anything good o...

Pasco BE1900Cs and SH360s......
Does one of those plane types pay more? What are the rosters or schedules like on each? Is one more junior than the other? I have heard that Pasco furloughs during the Fall sometimes, so when will they hire again? Where do newhires go (plane and base)? Do they ever go to the SF3? And, do the Beech B...

Voyageur Airways---who are they?
Does anyone know who Voyageur Airways is? I heard one flying north of Vancouver and he stated he was going from Masset to Boeing Field. Where is Masset, and what kind of missions does this airline do? Is it a charter? Does anyone here fly for them? I think it was a Dash 8. Thank you.

What is the deal with Morningstar?
Who are those guys? I know they fly freight in 727s, but for whom? Where is their base of operations, and how do they compare with Cargojet and Kelowna(flightcraft)? Which of the three is the best place to work? Thank you.

Where are the two new planes going to fly? Any current Cargojet pilots want to comment? Are they hiring? Seems like a great company. Are they planning to get rid of all of the 727s? Thank you.

Re: Nolinair? Any news about them?
If you had newhires, where would they start? Are the Cargo runs junior to the pax runs? Is there a set roster? Is there a junior base? Thank you for any insight. Do you enjoy it? It seems like a great company.Plouffe wrote:We have 7 convairs. 4 passengers and 3 cargo.

Anyone know anything about Sunwest(Chinook) or North Cariboo
Anyone know anything about these operators? Do you like flying there? Which plane would a newhire start on? What are rosters like? Where would you be based? Thanks a million.

CMA and the Dornier 328s
I saw on their website that they have corporate Dornier 328s. Is that the "senior" plane at CMA? I think I heard one heading up to Ft. Nelson. Anyone know what is going on up there? Is it oil or mining? Anyway, do people get hired right onto the D328, or do they start in the BE-1900D always? Where i...

Nolinair? Any news about them?
Is Nolinair hiring? I know they have Convairs and maybe a 737-200 now, and I think they have a YWG base. Does anyone know anything about them like rosters or hiring info? Thank you.

Re: PASCO
Where do people start at Pasco? On the Bandit or Shorts? Which is the "junior" aircraft? Also, what are the rosters like? Did you say there are normally furloughs in the Fall? I have several friends that are interested in Pasco and some other turboprop operators. Thank you.

Re: Impressions of Flying the E175 and the E190
How often do AC pilots interchange between the E190 and the E175 on trips? Can you fly the E175 for a few days and then end a tour on an E190? Any preferences between flying the E175 and the E190 in terms of handling, performance, etc.?

Impressions of Flying the E175 and the E190
I've flown on both as a passenger but I would love to hear what Air Canada E175/E190 drivers think about the airplanes. Any pros/cons with either? Do you like the Primus Epic?
Cheers

Thanks for all of the previous replies. I am still hopeful that someone can give us a better view of what life is like on the line in the Pilatus. What is the Pilatus like to fly? How do you handle the longer flights? What destinations are more "typical" than others for the PC12 crews? Do you tend t...

Thanks for the pointers related to overnights. I agree that you need time to really enjoy an overnight - more than 12 hours. Perhaps that's unlikely in most aviation jobs unless you find a great corporate gig where you can stay at nice resorts for a decent amount of time. In my case, I have accumula...
