Re: BA versus YYZ controllers
I didn’t hear the approach controller send BA over to tower. If they switched early that would explain tower sending him back to approach.

Re: RCAF looking overseas to fill pilot shortage
I’ve been saying for years, if the RCAF wanted to staff pilots better, they’d open the Reserves to airline pilots for non-fighter roles. AFAIK, in order to be a Reserve pilot, you have to have been an active duty pilot. For Herks, C-17s, CC-330s…. None of that is necessary. Those are airliners, bas...

Re: College of Professional Pilots of Canada
I think what they are trying to do is laudable. I don’t know if their goals are realistic, given that there are already Unions, and there is the Honourable Guild of Air Pilots (formerly the Honourable Guild of Air Navigators, but considering most pilots trained after the year 2000 can’t actually na...

Re: When Albert separate, will it keep Canadian licensing or go the FAA route?
But then the stickler, with Alberta being a foreign country, what happens to all the Westjet routes? An Alberta based airline would no longer have the right to do routes originating in YVR, YWG, YYZ, YUL or YHZ to anywhere other than alberta, basically they will have YYC and YEG, as departure point...

Re: From PC-12 FO to King Air FO - tips?
Best advice I ever got was from an old Voodoo pilot; “It’s a plane, you fly it”. Don’t be intimidated, grab the POH, learn the systems. The engines are still PT6s, so not much more to learn there. As was said above, a well behaved airplane with straight forward systems.

Re: When Albert separate, will it keep Canadian licensing or go the FAA route?
So if you see someone on drugs on the street the correct answer is to conduct an expensive court trial, spend hundreds of thousands a year jailing them instead of putting more money into resources for rehab? Yes; costs about the same for rehab vs jail. Jail makes sure they aren’t making trouble whi...

[quote=newlygrounded post_id=1338591 time=1746492683 user_id= No, that's jail. There is no rehab plan. We can talk about forced rehab when VOLUNTARY rehab is actually accessible and not 2 sessions 6 months down the road. That's also not his housing plan. His plan was to spend $200,000 a year jailing people with Addictions issues! That sounds very cost effective lmao! His housing plan was 15% cumulative growth FOREVER, can you let me know where the manpower, cranes etc would come from? How are you going to prevent costs from skyrocketing ala covid w...

Can you let us know how PP's housing plan would work in reality? Or his "fix" for the homeless? Significantly better than importing 2 million new people to house and hiking taxes on everyone and everything. Ah so deflecting, nice! Thanks for admitting you don't have any answers. No deflection. Re: When Albert separate, will it keep Canadian licensing or go the FAA route?
Even if this doesn't happen all we have to do is wait for father time. It seems like most people over 50 have no personal principles other than what the CBC or other liberal legacy media tells them to think. The younger generations have been "radicalized" into having some critical thinking skills. ...

both of those are subjects on an IQ test, amongst others. The concept of IQ tests has been generally dismissed in modern psychology due to the difficulties in defining IQ. This is very very untrue. You do realise this was a hypothetical (made up) example of what the bell curve does NOT look like. Date: september 9 2023. I suspect that position will likely have changed based on recent events. It's been part of the conservative official policy documents for a long time. Feel free to be delusional and think 'they wouldn't actually do that', but one only needs to look south and see how fast a n...

My take from this is how well the RJs structure survived this incident. No kidding! They built those things tough. I am not so sure right now about how tough it really is. I have seen some very hard landings on videos over the years and this one did not look particularly bad. Perhaps there is more ...

I still think we might be able to benefit from all this with new pipelines, change to the Dairy marketing board, and increased natural resource development. Bingo. Right on all points. Right on all points. Except: 1. Carney will be anointed. 2.Election will be delayed to fall 2026. 3.Nothing else w...
