Re: Gravel tips.

It's amazing how much the soft field technique from the 152 days come into play. Fundamentals are key.

Re: Gravel tips.

Thanks for the input. I mean " do a thorough walk around before and after every flight " sorry. Read the AFM like a bible. I do it all the time. A little piece everyday, regardless of how awesome I think I am, every time I gain insight or learn something. I posted this to find some insight as to why...

Gravel tips.

I am flying on gravel and am teaching a new Captain the subtle ways of gravel ops. I was wondering if I could mine the vast experience of AvCanada for some helpful hints. We are operating a Citation Ultra with a gravel kit onto 4000' gravel runways. So far I have to impart: - Take this very seriousl...

Re: Anyone have tips for the LJ35?

Congrats on the new job. There's a site called smartcockpit.com. They have a Lear 31 study guide. I'm not sure how similar it is to the 35, but at least a start.

I've been out of the game for a while and I'm trying to get my head sorted. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks p....

Emerites hits air pocket and plunges 15,000 ft.

I love how if you read further, the plane only lost 200 ft during a brief encounter with turbulence.

Re: How do you know which SID, STAR, Runway you gonna get??

I believe there's a flow issue using the 33's. Something about encroaching on US airspace over the lake. As per the departure procedure, wait until you get it. After several years of getting the Lester 7 off of 23, they bust out the Windy 1. Why and when do they choose the W1 over the L7, I have no ...

Let me first say, you sound almost too smart to be a pilot. Taking university courses in meteorology puts you ahead of probably 90% of all pilots in terms of academics. You will also find that the 235 hr wonder teaching the ground is a little more than a PPL pilot himself/herself. To compare ...

Re: Blonde 5` 11`` 115lbs Blue eyes flight instructor for hire!!

Back in the day, I was on salary. I did the math, and I would have made more money if I'd been paid an hourly rate. However, I never had to milk students or draw out briefing to make rent. Somehow, it never works in your favour. I was dirt poor, no car, barely enough to eat, and yet they were some o...
