Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

What if Letko backs up Quebecor, AF-KLM and Westjet ? They can't back up another deal, as per the article at the top... Air Canada has also entered into a lock-up and support agreement with Transat's largest shareholder, Letko Brosseau & Associates Inc., who beneficially owns or has control or dire...

Re: DOH merge.

Usually, there is no vote on an integrated seniority list, it is left up to the two parties to come up with a suitable solution. If they can't an arbitrator decides.

Re: DOH merge.

They can't take over 19.9% subject takeover restrictions, and they will announce the amount of shares acquired on the offer close date. If you don't think they are going to cancel them, or return them you better pay attention to how many they get and cancel them yourself on the 13th 6pm Montreal ti...

Re: DOH merge.

You're seeing things and reading incorrectly into that. They are clear that they will under no circumstances take up more than 19.9% of the shares and will amend the offer to reflect the actual on the 13th and revoke any other proxies. They can't under the, previously mentioned, shareholder protect...

Re: DOH merge.

No. That's not the deal on offer from Mach. You are talking about this multi billion dollar business like they are some Nigerian chain letter hacks running a scam to trick people. Besides, they don't need 40% to get the No vote. With Letko against at about 19%, plus some other large stakeholders un...

I invite you guys to go read up on how this deal came together for AC vs Group Mach, start on page 6 of the following document https://www.transat.com/getmedia/609a4798-bc18-4c74-a15b-9e9603bafdc9/2019-HRZ-Circular-English-FINAL.pdf.aspx Also, go read up on the Group Mach proposal for the share purc...

Re: DOH merge.

I disagree. AC acquiring Transat will provide many positives that have already been beaten to death on here. Think long term. This would be good for AC. Agree to disagree? It may be a slight net positive for AC shareholders. But it will be a definite negative for AC pilots. No point in rehashing......

Re: DOH merge.

I object to your false analogy. I don't want AC to acquire Transat. Period. Status quo, Mach, Onex, I don't care. But not AC. I made no inference on the balance of your fallacy. What are you afraid of? Anyway we both know the deal with AC will be finalized at the end of the poker game; there is no ...

Re: DOH merge.

There is so much garbage and venom on this thread, I have no desire to read it. We are just pawns in a game played by others. I am not going to argue with other pawns who like me, have no control over what is happening, it's useless. I am just going to continue to do my job, with a positive attitud...

Re: AC offer AT $13 per share

The difference between Jazz and Transat is that Jazz operates wholly in an area that is permitted to be contracted out and does not require AC pilots on the AC pilot seniority list operating the aircraft. Less than 80ish seats. Transat flies aircraft that can not be contracted out and require pilot...

Re: DOH merge.

Well, there is also another group affected. Those who decided to stick it out at an Express carrier because they were told that was the "way to AC," finally made it to mainline in the last year after AC decided hiring Westjet pilots instead for a whole summer two years ago was a better idea... Now ...

Re: DOH merge.

I think everyone is getting worked up over nothing. I don't think they will merge the company. At least not with Mainline. Maybe with Rouge but that was a risk they took when they left Mainline for Rouge so they can not cry foul too much about that. They can't. Why do you people keep saying it? htt...

Re: DOH merge.

How is this difficult to understand? The money is in bigger airplanes. Someone who gets 500 people on top of him in the seniority list might never see WB captain spot due to the way demographics works against him. Or he will see it for fewer years. The 500 pilots slotting ahead come with aircraft, ...

Re: DOH merge.

How? Why? Pay isn't going down. Just because someone else would, hypothetically, catch a break, doesn't mean you are losing money. Air Transat consists -among other things- of planes and pilots. The pilots are merging into AC. The planes, you could have some arguments, but either way, whether it's ...

Re: AC offer AT $13 per share

What about the fact that AC has a file on the vast majority of AT pilot because they applied there and were not chosen to be hired. These pilot that were deem not acceptable at the time are suddenly going to be given no interview job at AC, something not even AC Express get? Why does it matter? Peo...

Re: AC offer AT $13 per share

So many ways to slice it but DOH appears to be the fairest solution with some fences as others have mentioned before. What could be some of the 'fences' that could result with a merge? Maybe its DOH but unable to bid outside of AT equipment for AT pilots and visa versa for AC pilots the first two y...

Re: DOH merge.

It's hard to foresee AC retraining most of the of Transat pilots to comply with the ACPA contract, that would cost millions. It's more likely that AC will sit down with ACPA and work out a deal to take advantage of 700 trained pilots and the lift they provided, at a lower cost than ACPA pilots would...

I’m very proud of my Air Transat family, we have fought a long hard battle, with many ups and downs through out the years with many from the AC side mocking us, oh how amusing it will be to walk into flight operations and see those same guys again whom will now most likely be Junior to us, it is we...

Re: DOH merge.

My guess is that Ac will come up with a plan that creates little to no labour dispute. Anything that has to be negotiated between the unions will be a mess and I doubt AC wants that.

Re: Air Canada Buys Air Transat

Why would you keep a separate brand that competes directly with Rouge and AC Vacations? Sorry but that just doesn't make sense. Because of the TS distribution network is linked to the Air Transat brand. Maybe Air Transat will become another Rouge except now AC controls where they both go and doesn'...

Re: Air Canada Buys Air Transat

How will pay, seniority and flow work now with Transat in the AC picture? Should be fun to watch. There's no guarantee they will merge the companies. Sure will be interesting. Let's see if AC still remembers the mess with the Canadian merger? I suspect the Air Transat brand will live on within the ...
