To be fair the article states that YYC is the worse Cristy for disruptive pax, makes sense WS takes the cake.Jean-Pierre wrote: ↑Sun Jan 18, 2026 1:15 am WestJet accounted for 66 of 114 total disruptive passenger reports last year. AC had 10 and Porter had 6. It's like Carnival cruise line of the sky.

Re: Interview Process
We will need more crews for the new augmented rules phased in January 2027 and 2030. Road show hinted at about 100 just for that. No more 4 pilot augments. 100% might create a few positions, we won't know until the pairings with the new rule get published, sometimes this Spring is my guess. What mi...

Re: First in Canada 100% deadhead pay Will other alpa pilots follow?
Transat has done a better job with less leverage, We issued the 72 hour strike notice and the company had to cancel flights. The deal was made on the eve of the strike/lockout. I'd say we had pretty good leverage. I'm speaking about Transat's financial health vs other airlines. Kudos to Transat pil...

Re: First in Canada 100% deadhead pay Will other alpa pilots follow?
These premiums have been in the CA for a wile, it isn't new. We need DFO approval to do it and every time it's happened to me, 3 times in 18 years, they were not very keen on it and I had a hard wheels up time or back to the gate. TC does not like these extended duty days and the company has to just...

In general the most critical of a union have done 0 union work. If they put in some time into a committee or an elected position they would change their tune.

Re: Anyone have any clue what the proposed SALARY SCALE LOOKS LIKE WITH THE NEW TA?
Say that you think new pilots should have to suffer because you did without saying they should have to suffer because you did. I bet you didnt make it work with 2k extra at the end of the year. I bet you worked a second job or went into debt. My pint is that shouldn't be the case. It shouldn't have...

Re: The TA
The big problem with starting pay in my opinion is that there’s no recognition in the different levels of experience upon hiring. At TS for example they’re doing a cadet program now. Same pay for the cadet and a 5000 hour pilot. If one was able to jump up a few levels on the scale when they start, b...

Re: So when is Peak Leverage?!
I only made the comparison because Jazz and AC agreed that Jazz would be the only tier II operator for AC until 2025, when AC violated that, Jazz did nothing to challenge it. So, if Porter bought a bunch of 321s and Transat didn’t challenge it, what can the pilots do? Are we talking about Jazz ALPA...

Wow my mousing hand is cramping from having to delete so many posts. Let's try to keep things on-topic, shall we? I kept any post that remotely had some information regarding the actual topic. I'll keep an eye on this thread and on the Transat forum for a little while; people who can't play nice wi...

Re: So when is Peak Leverage?!
The problem is that it would be up to the airline to challenge it, we experienced that with the Jazz/AC agreement. PAL was a complete violation but Jazz didn’t challenge it. Hopefully this is not the situation for you guys, I noticed this morning Transat posted a net loss for the fourth quarter of ...

Re: So when is Peak Leverage?!
Any idea what the wording is for the PD/TS joint venture, any aircraft restrictions? Haven't seen the language yet, possibly out today. It's unrestricted thru the scope, only in what TS-PD have negotiated. We were told the are some restrictions thru the competition bureau if one party went "wild". ...

Company puts 9% to your 1%, did I read that correctly? Yes Just a quick observation. 10% aggregate contribution towards retirement will not normally generate the requisite nest egg. And as most are aware, top up opportunities using RRSP may be limited due to annual contribution limits. I presume th...

Re: So when is Peak Leverage?!
My guess is management hung onto the Porter JV pretty tight, and wasn't worth the bargaining efforts. It likely wasn't a fight they would have won anyway. The contract between PD and TS was an insurmountable obstacle. The rest of the scope is supposed to be solid. Somewhere between the Delta and We...

2025 TA Q&A
Starting fresh hoping this thread remains civilized. If it goes sideways I'll be out, you guys can dig it up another way. Some highlights from the presentation, in no particular order. Most of this is in the Executive Summary if you've seen it. RRSP going from 5% employee 8% employer to 1% employee ...

Also, pension great, though i haven't seen any details. Tell me though, how does YOS help year 1-2 FOs? I can see how it helps people in the middle... but not the JR guys. Not immediately but they will fully benefit from it upon upgrade. It's not a cheap item to bargain. Can't put all the money in ...

Is that a serious question....? A living wage.... Actually, they got a raise of a living wage. The Jr guys didnt even get a living wage. You just keep repeating the same stuff over and over, people live with less BTW. You bring no facts with regards to the contract being 99% to the top. Years 1 FO ...
