Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

What is the wording on the percentage of Transat flying conducted by Air Transat in your scope? As was pointed out also, a not insignificant part of Transat AT flying was done by other airlines, not Air Transat... Westjet, Canjet, German wet leases, TFWs, etc... how does that work? I'm also curious...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

Saying Transat’s aircraft Is part of the brand is like saying the logistics division of Walmart is part of its brand. The Transat brand is all about the destination and price and has very little to do about the seat you sit in to get you there. Economies of scale will determine what and how much of...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

We got a memo from the union about it; and all domestic flights suddenly showed 0 pax in our system although they were showing 75% full. No more info. Hence my question? Is there any provision in the CBA pertaining to transat passengers flown on transat metal? A percentage of all flights sold by TS...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

I don't see an attitude that thinks they're better, I see an attitude that doesn't acknowledge a reasonably good deal for them at the cost of the other guys. It's not our deal, but it only has a negative affect on one group... just is what it is... I don't have to like it though. This is the part t...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

Everyone's going to advocate for what's best for their side. That's a fact. I think it's funny you guys insult people over it... you don't have to accept it, and it doesn't add up to a hill of beans, but why the insults? Just like TS guys want to come across as far up the list as they can, AC guys ...

Re: Calin is retiring February 2021

AC is still a target for other major airlines that have had government support, even with all the raised capital they need butts in seats and TS can provide that.
Yes that’s next at some point. However, it’s limited to the 49% ownership rule.
I don't mean that AC is an acquisition...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

To put a different spin on this deal, in Spittin' Chiclets parlance, this deal would make AC a WAGON...and its pilots should get PAID. It's easy for everyone to think about what they stand to loose with a merger but there could be a tremendous upside too. A bunch of leased airplanes aren't worth mu...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

I don't consider myself as an entitled piece of shit...we are all just trying to protect or hold on to our careers and career choices. Reading through the old and new ac pilot forums, I would say the proposition or "my crack" at what a merged list would look like is not that bad! A lot of...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

27 Tails X 9 full crews per tail is 486 pilots. Transat is bringing work for 486 pilots but is showing up on the property with 650-680... Tell me how those 200 pilots that are extra shouldn't go BOTL? Tell me how that is fantasy? This isn't an extreme propisition, it's only fair to both parties. Th...

Re: Calin is retiring February 2021

I really hope this Transat deal actually makes sense and is not part of some egotistical "legacy". For all intents and purposes, AC is getting TRZ for free. This is a partial stock swap transaction. The majority of TRZ debt is TS aircraft operating leases. TRZ (not the airline) has proper...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

We should or the arbitrator should figure out exactly how many tails Transat is bringing over. Mike Rousseau clearly said, some trimmimg of the Transat fleet will be required. We can expect the 310s and the 737s are game over. Figure out how many pilots are required to operate that exact amount of ...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

Did any AC pilots get the Coles notes with what Calin said . I have them but I'm not posting the screen shot. I'll start by saying it was very specific its not the same as Canadian and AC merging because an acquisition is a takeover. Arirelle said "it's an ACQUISITION." He outlined Quote ...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

That is what it will be. Starting point will have to be determined, I have no doubt TS will want top of the list start point, AC will probably want a wage comparable start point. The arbitrator will apply a few corrections, find somewhere in between and everyone will say they got screwed... a few f...

Re: Appologies

The last election a group ran for office with the agenda to stop the progression toward ALPA. They just weren’t up front about it to the membership. In fact ACPA has had this happen multiple times now. People with a common agenda get elected and pursue said agenda. This time, for a change, we have ...

Re: Appologies

Also, ALPA will not pursue any relationship with ACPA as long as the deal with TS is not finalized or dead. Their duty of representation is towards the TS group and any talks with ACPA would be inappropriate. Not true. Not true. The very first thing that happens is a representation vote. Well befor...
