Re: Rouge A321
It's 5 brand new A321s total, the first 2 being delivered in November 2015. They will mainly be used on the Florida flights.

What about the one that crashed in the Everglades, Valuejet I think. Again not much they could do on that one.

Re: Air Canada Rouge to expand to Vancouver, Calgary
I just booked another trip. And yes I didn't book with them even though it cost me more. My wife took the same pictures at mainline, I guess you'll scratch them of your list as well? Air Canada Rouge is operated by AC pilots with AC training standards. I can tell you that it's far from being "unpro...

Re: Air Canada Pool
Hi all,
How does it work if you want to transfer to mainline a few years down the path? At what level of the mainline payscale do you start?
I've heard from an AC line pilot that you start at year 1 which to me doesn't make any sense.
Can anyone confirm this?
Cheers

Thanks

Re: Air Canada Pool
YYCFLYGUY Lower pay, but way better schedule... and well worth the trade off...... Quite happy with the Rouge conditions. I could be reserve FO on 320..... (was for a bit) and work 18 days.... or 10-11 at Rouge for 300 bucks a month less take home. OH... and a fair share bid.... To me well worth th...

Re: Rouge rosters?
yep. at least, some will have the pleasure to grasp the meaning of "pay", and will make the difference with "pay including perdiems"... how often will we have to rephrase that again ? If I agree a 100% that per-diems are not pay but there to cover your expenses while on the job, it still mak...

Hi all,
Can anyone answer the expense question? Are crew meals provided for daily turns or expenses paid? How much can you expect to get on the 319 monthly?
Thanks!

Re: Rouge rosters?
YUL base is opening up for the 319. 10 spots. Will likely grow. 319 is starting florida layovers. When you take a breath and look at how pay is awarded...it's a pretty good deal. A few 67 skips are making 777CA pay (if not more). Floating around a pool on a noodle for 2 days aint bad either. Good n...

I interviewed in March 2013, was just given a course date for November pending a good outcome with my medical which I am doing this week. Good luck to all! Are you serious?! I interviewed in November or December 2012 and was just offered a second medical, not a course date. What is that all about?!...

Re: Crew screening
The all crew I was with once refused to press the button because a CATSA employee just went through without pressing it, just in front of us. It's a random check for EVERYONE. They had 3 choices: - Call back the CATSA employee that was just through - Call the manager and explain the situation - Let ...

Re: Rouge rosters?
Thanks TheStig! The thing I was the most afraid of regarding the LCC was the commuting aspect but seeing that YUL is in the picture makes me see it as a viable option. Having a young family at home, socialized bidding is something I could get used to very easily. Seniority based airlines are just a ...

Re: Rouge rosters?
Hey all, Just wondering how many aircraft are now being operated by Rouge? Do we start to have a better picture of what the rosters are gonna be like? Are the A319 back in YYZ every night, meaning you are constantly working single days or are there any 3 or 4 day pairings (with layovers in YUL or an...

Re: Air Canada Pool
LCC positions in YUL is a HUGE and pleasant surprise. Hope to see more of these in the future.
Do you know if YUL actually is a planned base for the LCC?
It's also good to see that there are some mainline positions. Now let's see what's gonna be offered at the November GS.

Re: Air Canada Pool
Are you saying that the SOPs are different?
From what I understand, a move from LCC A319 to Mainline 320 Fam will not be considered an equipment change and therefore not deducted from your 5 or 6 moves allowed during your carreer at AC. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Air Canada Pool
Let's say a new hire gets the 319 at Rouge, flies it for a few months and a bid comes out showing A320 openings at mainline (after everyone has bid). Can he/she bid on it or is the 4 year position freeze rules? In this case no training would be required, just a change of tie....
Thanks!

Re: Rouge rosters?
To come back to the subject at hand how would it work on the 319 for a commuter if it's just turns? Does that mean you would be "home" (crashpad) in YYZ every night? I was under the impression that there would be several day pairings with layovers at some canadian places (Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton...

Re: Rouge rosters?
I'm also interested to know what would be the take home pay of a brand new (year 1) FO at Rouge based on actual monthly credits (not minimum guaranteed). And what are the per-diems like? 200 to $400/month?
If anyone is willing to share the content of their pay slip that would be appreciated.
