Re: AME Wages - AME's Unite!!
My parting line (since I’m gonna be banned for speaking my mind) There is a labour shortage for skilled AMEs, and to all the companies who can’t find anyone - money talks. Pay your people well, respect their skills and personal lives/time. The world is changing and people don’t want to work to death...

Re: Open Defects entered at Annual Inspection
A private pilot has no business determining if an aircraft is airworthy. Photofly; get fucked. Your the type of tool that makes aviation exhausting.

Re: Maintenance Engineer/ Commercial Pilot
You could always take the Aircraft Maintenance program, and start apprenticing at a flight school, and if you are lucky, as I was, the flight school will let you take some lessons for free, attend ground school at a reduced cost, and trade some overtime for flight hours.

To the WestJet Maintenance recruitment team; offering 29 per hour to a 15 year AME M1/M2 is not going to cut it. I suspect your having trouble filling positions in Calgary for that, may I suggest offering a living wage...

Re: Spot the drunk pilot contest
Zero tolerance for this type of crap. Revoke his pilots license, drivers license, and work visa. Period.
Depressingly I am more upset that the pilot was in Canada on a work visa, since I currently know several Canadian pilots that are out of work.

Re: Legality/Liability of freelance work on GA aircraft
When a plane goes down killing someone, everyone gets sued. The aircraft manufacturer, engine manufacturer, AME, Pilot, airline, aircraft fueler, anyone who has been around that airplane before the accident. It is then up to all parties involved to hire lawyers to prove that they weren't at fault fo...

Re: About Getting an M License...
"If I had my AME license here is how I would do things..." 1) Buy a hanger with a decent runway. 2) Create repair boxes which have a full tool set. These repair boxes with tools are accounted and rented for by the day. 3) Offer courses in repairing and maintaining your own plane. 4) Offer mailing se...

Re: TIO-540-A2C (Navajo) Problem
This could be a serious issue, Check the oil filter very carefully, examine with a microscope if reqd. Look for shiny metal.. a camshaft that is deteriorating will cause the same symptoms. should it come up clean re check for induction leaks, this is the transition RPM for the turbo so even the smal...

Re: The problem, with schools now a days
My Wife is a public school teacher. The problems with public school are amazing, I shake my head everytime she tells me stories. I guess the issue that bothers me is, Teachers are not allowed to fail students these days regardless of their grades, what is this going to teach the youth. You suck at s...

Suddenly I appear to be anti-American.
I'm not. However I am against their lousy television news. Hence my initial comment.
And for the record I spent 8 weeks working in Djibouti. Goggle that.

Is there anybody else out there who, when watching American news, (CNN, Fox etc) gets the urge to beat the reporters with heavy mining equipment...? Or is it just me? I have a news flash for you... your country is fighting two wars, your economic system is falling apart, you have tens of thousands o...

People who cannot be bothered to keep updated manuals for aircraft they own, or are responsible for maintenance on should leave aviation. There are no excuses for not updating your library. Period. If you care to debate, phone your local TC office and ask them. Freak people, get with program. Do thi...

AH yes doing things right or fast... nothing quite like hearing your boss tell you that it should only take 8 hours to do a annual inspection on a airplane you have never seen before.. or my personal favorite... "..eh this guy only flies 100 hours a year so do a quick annual" Heres an idea... below ...
