Re: Looking back
Is that the picture from the final flight for that bird? I believe I saw this one recently and the caption said it was in the harbour in St. Anthony after it was flown there to he put on display. Love the peas and carrots. Correct, it is on display in YAY well after my time. Flown in I believe by a...

Looking back
Thumbing through a few old photo albums other day, few fond memories for sure, like this old beast. Not a lot of us around now with operational time on a WW2 era flying boat but that was 45yrs ago for me.

Re: Jazz for Life
Hello, Many forums talk about how AC is the only company that is 'guaranteed' to still be flying 10, 20 and 50 years from now. Flair, Porter, etc all come with the risk of going the way of CanJet and Lynx. My Question: Does Jazz/Rouge share the same assurance of AC? Can we assume Jazz (or some othe...

Re: Why everyone runs to AC?
"the opportunity to fly a diverse range of aircraft to destinations worldwide is a compelling aspect of a career with Air Canada. The airline has 7 fleets, including the A220, A320, A330, B737, B767F, B777, and B787, providing pilots with the chance to experience various aircraft models." That is fa...

Re: New Hire Sims?
Outside of new hires who unfortunately don’t make the grade during initial training, are there very many pilot dismissals at AC for other reasons.

Re: New Hire Sims?
With the demise of Lynx and Flair floating in quicksand wouldn’t the AC Pilot Recruitment drop box be full of “ talent “ applications despite the starting remuneration.

Re: The end of Flair?
This antagonism towards Flair is totally misplaced. All they're is doing wrong is possibly failing against a government who've created a hostile aviation environment that is 7 times more expensive to operate in than our neighbours, and the most expensive operating structure in the entire G20. Maybe...

Re: The end of Flair?
Problem is, he is so blind that the building is crumbling around him but he doesn’t see it, he’s just sitting at the table sipping on his koolaid. The “glitches” are frequent and not conducive to a successful outcome. How many people will think twice about booking with Flair due to these problems. ...

Plus the economy is starting to slow. Sooner or later bookings and demand will start to drop off. Can only put everything on credit for so long. And those variable rate mortgages...... are coming up for renewal soon. True. However from what I see and hear( through associations) traveller...

Re: Flair Suspending Growth Plans amid Delivery Delays and Debt
Cheapo Air is owned by Fareportal, not 777partners. When I tried to search flights on Flair's site it redirected me to Expedia. I had to reenter the city pair and dates and search. The first page of results were all Westjet and Air Canada flights. I had to scroll way down to find a flight that show...

If I am setting at a resort aka CUN,PUJ or PFR and Flair was my return fare, I would be very edgy at about now.

Re: Flair Suspending Growth Plans amid Delivery Delays and Debt
Representing the travelling public, this is probably a good thing. It saves the unsuspecting travellers from having worthless admissions when the show stops. Indeed. Protects People's Trust from holding the bag of customer refunds if Flair goes under, which also protects the customer. Still can't bo...

Re: Flair Suspending Growth Plans amid Delivery Delays and Debt
Hmmm another unpaid vendor finally pulling service? Seems odd to me that these "glitches" (ADP and now this) start happening when Flair's payment processor is withholding cash until services are rendered to the customer stopping Flair from using tomorrows bookings to pay todays bills. Representing ...

Re: Flair Suspending Growth Plans amid Delivery Delays and Debt
At some point in time in this country- second largest land mass and 40th spot in population- there will have to be a realization that ULCC model can’t work. We are not the EU with close impact high density structure supported with a population nearing 500m. Flair is covering most of domestic Canada ...

Re: Flair Suspending Growth Plans amid Delivery Delays and Debt
I feel bad for the flying public who certainly will be caught up(again) in another ULCC meltdown, Flair has been admitted to the aviation palliative care unit not far from its last breath. There are going to be some unnerving gulps from the employees on pay deposit days, needless to say - sadly

Re: Flair Suspending Growth Plans amid Delivery Delays and Debt
This could be a very crucial time for Flair operations in that with the sudden demise of Lynx the travelling public may stay away from ULCC travel with its associated risks. It is in the public domain about cancelled vacations, stranded with additional costs to get back home and refunds of invalid f...
