Re: Heath Ledger Dead at 28

Good post Rockie. Are some of you 8 years old or just mentally handicapped?

You don't have to care, but you don't have to voice that lack of caring. "Better to remain quite and thought of a fool than to open your mouth and confirm it!"

I THINK THERE IS A PROBLEM... its your call and your license make ythe right choice Let modify that. Listen Doc as a starting point. Listen to Rockie once you have some experience. If you make ...

Re: Aircraft Critical Surface Contamination

If we are what we eat, you guys had too much of the "grumpy old bastard"! Many smaller company employees don't get actual training other than the exam thrown in front of them. That forces them to at least skim through and make themselves familiar with information that is available to them. For...

I know plenty of non-Christians that celebrate New Years.

Highway stations are normally open. In-town stations are a little more hit and miss.

Re: Travelling in Iran

Oh yeah nobody "disables" the autopliot at minimums! It would appear you are the one who is not a pilot. One last thing I am not your buddy. These airlines do: Iran Air Mahan Kish Air Aseman Airlines Nordic1 Scanair (when they existed) Would be more than glad to give you the run-down from some of t...

Re: Travelling in Iran

Thanks 6030. Saved me a lot of keystrokes. I took particular offence from the quote "Wtf is wrong with you? Pilot's are supposed to love travel and adopt the knowledge of different cultures." Like it or not, travel is just part of the occupation. I know plenty of very fine pilots who like all aspect...

Re: Westjet/Air Canada merger on the horizon?

Good to see wisdom still looks to the past before looking to the future.

In the current business climate, I can't see it either. Unfortunately, that climate can turn on a dime as many of us senior folks have experienced.

Re: Westjet/Air Canada merger on the horizon?

Not that I am a proponent of a merger between AC and WS but lets just replay dialogue I have heard over the years... "I heard PWA is buying CP Air!" "No way man, never happen. PWA is tiny" "I heard Canadian is buying Wardair!" "Nah, why would they do that?" "I heard AC is buying Canadian!" "What a w...

Re: Westjet/Air Canada merger on the horizon?

Where does the money come from to aquire what ACE has to offer? Public share offerings for the most part. Risk sharing partners. Stock trades with current AC shareholders. Doesn't Westjet share profits ? Yes, but a small percentage of profits. Or is it also on the market? Every publicly traded comp...
