Hi Bluenote,
How can I help you
I flew GISY on traffic patrol for ATR. The Chief Pilot at the time was was Dave Curry and another pilot may have been Albert Lee.
I don't have contact info for them although Dave was working for the Accident Investigation Board.

Re: Flight Instructing w/o MIFR
JJ glad to see that you have moved on to another FTU, I suspect that the place you were at no longer gave you the satisfaction that you desired. Having personally observed your enthusiasm for flying I think that you will be a credit to the flight training industry. You might want to target the FTU's...

Re: Flight Instructing w/o MIFR
I know where you are coming from, having your summers off would be a great opportunity to get some paid flying. The problem is that you need to find a FTU that will hire you part time and I know that the FTU where you are presently training does not like to hire part timers. You might want to consid...

Talk to Dave Kirby or Andy Woodham, the CFI at SAS, or Bob Malchow, the CFI at BFC. They are all top notch people and instructors.

This manual might whet your appetite. I have flown the route Goose Bay - Narsassuaq - Reykavik - Glasgow a couple of times in a SE aircraft. The only time to fly thos route instead of the azores is from May to September due to weather. http://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/publications/media/NAT%20IGA%2020...

Joe Thompson, there's a name from the past. I first met Joe when he was at Sault College and our paths crossed a few times over the years. The last I heard of Joe he was at Seneca College but this information may be out of date. A first class guy in my opinion.

Re: Group 1 IFR renweal
Hi John, For the purpose of an IFR flight test the candidate is deemed to hold an instrument rating and can file an IFR flight plan AND conduct the flight test in VMC or IMC. Examiners prefer the candidate to file IFR and ideally the flight should be conducted in IMC although it is not mandatory. Yo...

I suspect that there is a typo in the question for #3. I think that the temperature should be minus 20. This would make more sense at 10,000 feet as well. This does give an answer of 180 kts.

The 25 hours solo is part of the dual/solo training requirements for the CPL. All the training must be done under the supervision of an Instructor. You must have a PTR in which all the training must be recorded with each page signed by you and the instructor. Yes, the training can be done in your ow...

Re: Instructor and night currency for instructing question
This question has been raised before and by definition the person receiving the night training can only be considered a passenger or a crew member. According to Transport Canada they are a passenger so an instructor cannot teach night flying until they have regained their night currency.
