Re: CMA

Some questions about CMA:

What is the sched like? .... specifically --> days off/month
Do they have jumpseats on both AC and WS?
Do the 1900s have autopilots?

If you get your Instructor, you're still going to need your group1 anyways assuming you want a Multi job. >500hrs with a MIFR is a decent resume.

spins are fun

i've never heard of anyone crashing a plane when practicing a spin

i'd be more worried about teaching landings

VFR Class E CZ

i don't get Class E When tower shuts down at nightime primetime --> CZ becomes class E. But aren't VFR using the airport really doing uncontrolled MF. How is it class E if there is no one there and no FSS guy communicating info ala RCO? Or is FSS peeping in without communicating? side question --> W...

thanks mellow. those naval graphs rocked my world. it never occured to me that factors would move the curve. Good stuff. Also, FTGU states range is usually 5-10% faster than Glide but doesn't explain why. I like your prop slip theory to account for that.

Range vs Glide in a cherokee

If Best Glide is set at 69 knots. Then why is Max Range not also set at 69 knots (sense both are supposedly flown at max L/D ratio)? Why does the speed vary for max range?

Also->Ignoring the POH, is it possible to determine max range using the experimental method while in the air?

"Flaps don't increase Lift, they increase "coefficient of lift" (or CL). " uhh....well if flaps increase CL, then flaps do indeed increase Lift. Upon closer inspection, i was wrong in thinking flaps dont increase induced drag. Flaps DO increase Induced drag. What i still dont get is..--> How can fl...

flaps -->induced drag

How come flaps don't increase Induced drag if they increase lift? In my training manuals it says that vortices are worse when flying slow and CLEAN with high power such as t/o's and landings. What's the dealeeyo?
