Re: Air Georgian

Profit margin obsession in a highly competitive business and an ever increasing greed. These seem to be the key ingredients that lead to the situation we are in. Guys, we are all in this together. If we all started to respect each other and not accepting to get paid peanuts, this thread would never ...

Re: August Equipment Results

Rudder, Don't you think that a lot of these senior fo's are going to AC in the next few years ? I have been YYC based for over two years now and I have kept seeing growth. All we need now is a fresh order of CRJ 705 ;). But hey after all it's aviation, the only fact that is constant is change. Howev...

Re: Situation for Jazz New Hires

I would say just under 2000 $ plus per diems ( 900 to 1100 $ tax free on top of that, might not get as much as a new hire on reserve more in the 700 $ ballpark if you do not get called all the time.)
Bases on an average of 82.5 h credits.

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?

Guys, I don't understand why people debate over the ultimate best deal. There is no such thing as we are all different. We all have different perspectives, different desires, different priorities. Both carrieres have upsides and downsides and they all are relative, to our perception. My advice is : ...

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?

Very well written dream chaser ! Thank you for highlighting a reality ! But I just would like to remind some of us :WE are responsible for our present and future, no matter how much we blame the big shots for asking for more and more profit following the traditional capitalist pattern. We have to ad...

Re: Any hiring news??

I know for fact that one guy from the last ground school got a RJ YYC :) !

There might be some good news on the way for 2015. Hang tight, the future might be much brighter than what it seems to be at this time ...

Re: Any hiring news??

The hiring pool is a very simple concept to understand. If a candidate passes the interview, he will be assigned a certain score based on his performance. He will then be placed in a "virtual fish tank" with his score labeled on his "scales". Whenever the company needs to fill up a ground-school, th...

Granted,

But as much as I agree with all of you I do understand people leaving the company as it seems that there is nothing to look forward to in terms of career progression.

Re: Sunwing is hiring seasonal pilots

Hey guys,

So, I gather that SW is busy training all the upgraded fos in June. Can we expect the calls for the new hires to go out by mid June ?

Re: Renegotiating with Air Canada

Agreed !

So what can we actually and realistically do to defend our profession ? I joined the college at the end of August, but what else can we do, what are our realistic valuable options ?

Re: Renegotiating with Air Canada

Interesting topic, but when do you guys think that we will see the future shape of Jazz, by the end of this Summer ? A friend of mine told me that there could be no bid again this upcoming August. Any thoughts on that ?
