Our class had people from 2500 hours to well over 10,000. Some jet Captains, some turboprop guys...a real mix. Remember...hours just get you the interview...the rest is all up to you.

Are you implying that rotary time is worthless? What if he was doing IFR offshore marine rescue in a multi-crew environment? The judgment, SOPS, skills and so on are there; just in a different format than what would be normally seen from a fixed wing candidate.

I think you're confused about the greencard, which is a visa allowing you to obtain paying employment. It has nothing to do with the right to reside in the U.S., which is based solely on your right to enter the U.S. (i.e. no criminal record). Canadian citizens can stay in the U.S. for an indefinite ...

There are so many questions you never answered other than stating your experience and education. Remember the golden rule: your experience and education will only get you to the interview; the rest is up to you. You stress your significant experience and education but I see absolutely no connection ...

WJ vs SWA pay?

It seems that WJ seems to model themselves after SWA, and to some extent JetBlue. That being true, why have the WJ pilots accepted a compensation package 40% below that of SWA pilots? I know you can include options but I'm just talking about flat basic pay, without any of the added incentives. When ...

Just a phone call. Never really had time to be nervous about picking up the mail. What is up with the 6 month waiting period? It just doesn't make sense when they have openings for the April 23rd company indoc.

15 days for me. Hired and choice of course dates. Kind of strange that they have so many vacancies with all the people still in the pool.

I must have been accurate with my info as I was hired today. 2 weeks from interview to hired. Another thing that might help..... I think they look for people that truly enjoy aviation and are not just counting their hours to get to AC. Going to airshows, volunteering with Air Cadets, building your o...

Why do you want to work for AC? Why should we hire you? Describe a time when the outcome was very different than what you expected? Why? What are your strong / weak qualities? Describe a time when you had to make a quick and decisive decision? Tell me about yourself? What do you know about AC? Descr...

Waiting to hear from AC

Just wanted to touch base with anyone else waiting for the call or letter. Danger zone starts in 2 weeks or so and then I'll be sweating everytime I check the mail. Maybe it would be funny to get a hold of some AC envelopes and send them out to some buddies with "Gotcha!" inside. What's the ea...

Advice for AC interview / cog tests

I recently went through the process and maybe can pass along some useful info. Now before I start, I have to say this is only my opinion and maybe I scored at the bottom and will never get hired so beware. Its basically an all day process. I started with the cog tests and some important things to ke...

Why not just apply at the company you want to work for? If you prefer AC, then apply there and stay at your present job in the meantime. Likewise with Jazz. Chasing companies and moving around constantly just leads to frustration. Both companies are great for different reasons and decide if you want...

Yeah...I don't think too many F-18s are lying around salvage yards last time I checked... ... I went from 2 crew commuter ops back to the Ho mainly for the challenge, money and lifestyle (home almost every night). I think AC interviews from a wide, diverse range of backgrounds and not one type...

Present job for 4 years, previous for 2 years. The problem is that supervisors sometimes don't always fly with you and they see so many pilots over the years that they won't be able to say anything positive or negative about you as you were just another pilot.

I have all the flights entered but not certified (up to last year). I'm not really sure of my total time but over 5,000 for sure (that's the column I checked for AC). This is going to be a nightmare! They ask for all your logbook hours to be certified. This would involve trying to track down logbooks for airplanes that crashed years ago as some of the companies are long gone. Other operators dislike me simply because I quit which makes me the enemy. So how would you go about getting the books ce...
