Re: Anthony, 8 years old, from Quebec. A future Sunwing pil
An early trip to the flight deck stirred my interest to enter, enjoy and succeed in this industry, not as a pilot however but none the less it supplemented my compassion. I'm thankful to hear that in this continued state of aviation fear flight crews are allowing an "open house" to the cockpit when ...

I was out there the other day. Looks like they're still in operation with a few aircraft in the hangar.
Heard a rumour that they're adding another hangar also.

Re: Toronto Port Authority Proposes Tunnel to CYTZ
Spending money on another enviromental assessment?????? WTF - this was studied to death back in the Lastman era and was well on they way to become reality until David Miller killed it. So tax payers ended up paying for the EA and likely a pile more for contract cancellations only to do it all over a...

Re: Lockwire pliers
Not to sound old but after 25 yrs + in the industry I own a number of different tools (home made for special applications) which will twist wire etc..... Side cutters, duck bills or by hand works the best for me. Often I've seen some of the junior engineers get a little to excited about the twisting...

Re: My experience with the TSA
How have things changed? Is it now safer to fly given all of these added security measures?
Have the CATSA/TSA really deflected a significant number of potential threats?
I've rarely ever heard of them if they have.

Re: My experience with the TSA
My last few encounters with both CATSA and the TSA have also been a breeze.
Most recently I was steered into the x-ray line and when I handed my boarding pass to the screening agent she yelled out "he's a regular" and I went thru no questions asked, no need to get x-rayed or a pat down.

Re: THE BEST SOURCE FOR CAR´s EXAMINATION
The intent of the exam is to test your abilities in understanding the regulations, and in some cases, very specific details. I never really believed in these exams but they have to be taken and passed before one can move on as a qualified AME. It's the law!! They are available online, www.tc.gc.ca/c...

A conformity certificate is typically applied to a new part. (The OEM is making a statement of conformity) An authorized maintenance release is applied against an in service part which has had some form of maintenance done to it, i.e. repair or overhaul. Both documents can prove the part is airworth...
