Re: ACARS?
Actually the complaint had nothing to do with departures/parkbrake; rather the aircraft doors were being opened prior to the beacon being turned off - implying that the doors were being opened with either the engines still runing or the parkbrake not being set. The pilot, an F/O, thereafter filed a...

The cost of living increases are great...how about the 5% that everyone else got last year to bring the salary bands to industry standard? :D Well, everyone else except some of the people in this article: Globe and Mail: March 14,2009 Wow, those people in the article work for Westjet? :prayer: I gu...

Re: Does the coolaid really taste as sweet as it sounds?
I don't mind a five year deal. they addressed your concerns express. You will see why this week! 50 k to start now (first year) plus an average of 8 percent profit share and 10k share match should put you over 65 k first year. not bad. I hope so bro. I have enough stock already! Please no more stoc...

I for one am very skeptical of the new agreement. 5 years is an automatic no. No years of service. No options of 0%. If any of these rumours are true, we'll be voting again in the summer. I hope I'm wrong.

There's no money in long haul right now. It would be a big mistake at this time. I think they'll reassess the economics of it all in a few years. Don't hold your breath. WTF? No money in long haul? Re: the new agreement
Years of service will never happen, the cost to the company would be tremendous, especially if it retro-active. Plus I think there is little incentive from most of the pilots to actually try and negotiate this. Instead I think we should look as extending the FO pay scale, as well as the captain sca...

Re: Port Push Out, Split Crews In
IMHO, there'll be bases within 5 years. The port system isn't working that well and there obviously is not enough will to make it work beyond the token system that it currently is (not quite sure why, maybe that signal's a disconnect between upper management and line crew). There'll be a few ports a...
