Oldest is about 8 years. Avg would be about 2-4 years.

They have a boat load of the series ten coming to replace a lot of the older ones.

Both the Ho and Scaravan have the SOP's. This allows you to log it if they train you for the position, which they do. This would be an easy way to get into the industry. And best of all, you are working for a solid, safety orientated company that is very proactive.

My course is before Christmas. There are two left before Christmas. I am guessing that there was a last minute opening.

Hey,

I was given a medical two weeks ago. I was then offered course a week later. I strongly suggest that if you are given dates to pick the quickest one as this allowed me to get an earlier course date. I was July interview, September letter.

I agree with you too. There has to be some sort of minimums. My problem lies with his overall approach to the issue. Why has he not demanded or mandated such things as EGPWS, TCASII etc. etc. Aren't those pieces of serious safety equipment? Why is he not doing this? Or, why is it that a oil employee...

The market is hot. Everyone with a fresh CPL got a job at some point. With a hot market your chances are better! Apply everywhere. Show up everywhere. Talk to everyone. Be willing to move. You will get hired. Sitting by the fax and mass mailing may work, but my experience has been that it is all rig...

Hawker and Falcon are to be replaced for more versatile aircraft. 3 Sovereign are rumored to be the answer. The Falcon was for Ecuador but they are not going there now. All the information that I can gather points towards sometime after the holiday season for courses. I don't think that they have started slotting people yet.

My medical was within the last 10 days. I was given a list of dates that had availability within five days.

I interviewed in July.

Word is that ground schools are full until the new year. This is apparently the reason for the latest "letter" putting people into an unofficial hold pool.

Hiring is full on. The bulletin board is full of postings. If you have experience you can easily get more that first year pay. They have lost trips due to lack of crew! The benefits are excellent for a charter company. Guys that left for WJ have commented that they missed the SWA package. I am no he...

This is funny!

Don't take it out of context. How often have you jokingly swore about some airliner getting the better clearance, gate, runway etc.

Happens all the time!

Simple answer to this one. If the other aircraft has no engines running then ask the FSS guy/gal to mention to ATC that they are not even ready. I am certain that he will get you your clearance first. Or... Taxi out, block the hold line on the departure runway and wait. When said aircraft taxied out...

Here's my take. Bilingual conversation on 126.7, MF's and YUL ATC likely do not enhance safety. I have flown in these and my lack of french speaking ability makes me feel less situationally aware. On the flip side, it is easier for some francophone pilots to speak their native tounge. I understand t...

The simple answer to this whole stupid argument is this. Your ability to perform in the future is closely linked to your past experience. If you flew PC12 in an IFR corporate environment into the USA and you apply for a jet position that does the same, then it will be easy for you. If you flew Ho's ...

Just remember this... Hearing loss is cumulative. Every time you expose you ears to noise, you make them worse! The best measure is asking an older pilot... I asked a guy that i flew with what some of his advice was, and after having me repeat it, he said "get a noise cancel headset, period". David ...
