ILS protected airspace
Quick couple of questions for my ATC brothers and sisters.... 1. ILS approach. Vertically, what is my protected airspace? Between the IAF, MAP and to the missed approach hold? Legally, does the protected airspace extend up to the final missed approach altitude from anywhere on the approach? 2. Speci...

Re: Question for Q drivers
Don't forget you also need to be 'stable' which everyone coveniently forgets. So if you are VMC and we have to be stable by 500' then you can't go REF switch off below 500' otherwise you would have a 15/20Kt speed change which means you are no longer stable.

Re: Jumpseat Priority
Easy there Jimmy... I don't think the 'bar' has been lowered at all. The cockpit jumpseat is controlled by the company, it is afterall their aircraft! A Captain has the right to refuse access to the jumpseat if he/she wishes but does not have the authority to override the priority list as set by the...

Re: Calgary interview
I have an interview coming up in Calgary in February. Just wondering what the chances are, provided I was successful and accepted an offer, for getting a Calgary basing? If so, would it be possible to commute from YEG initially? What types are operated out of the YYC base? Is there a good source fo...

Re: WestJet Technical Exam
Its open book so don't even worry about it. One question was something about the fire coverage at an airport being '3' (or something along those lines)... what does that mean. Open the provided book, look up the relevant section in the index, turn to the correct page and there is the answer. Oh! Jus...

I also heard that CR can leap buildings, levitate cows by staring at them and catch bullets with his teeth.
Get real, if AC had that sort of reach it wouldn't be in the shitty mess it is today.
I still think you are on crack!

Of course... getting rid of 15 EMB175s will completely solve all the problems. There will be labour peace, everyone will get a pay raise and the pensions problems will vanish.

Jazz may or may not see them. It's a brave man who says never. There is more to it than just the basic price of a seat charged by sky regional or jazz.
Starting salary isn't 35 and you only pay for half the uniform.
But,agreed, no need to poke the bear!

It might be the less favored method but so what? If someone wants to fly an approach cross controlled that's fine. I'm not going to get in an argument about it. I have an opinion and it's obviously different to yours. And you opinion is not only wrong, it's also uncomfortable! Oh Doc, I knew I coul...

Nice and subtle little dig there CatNow we both understand our positions on this subject we obviously have different standards with regard to aircraft handling skills.....no problem.
