Re: Lack of leadership at ACPA
Unfortunately it seems that was assumed to be a lack of leadership at ACPA may be more severe than that. There are rumblings that the current MEC chair may be severe mental health issues and has been asked by several MEC members to step down and allow for a temporary chair to take his place. When wa...

Lack of leadership at ACPA
Here is one of our MEC members defending doing draft (OT) while we have 600 pilots laid off.
YVR MEC members are doing draft. NC chair is doing draft. Scope chair is doing draft.
Shame on you. We need new leadership. We need change.

Sunwing jumpseat mzt-yyz
Hey Everyone! Is there any sunwing guys or gals that could answer a question for me? I'm looking at travelling mzt-yyz on nov 26- I see there is a flight down from Toronto but as I think it's the start of the season for that route, is there also a flight back? Any load info would also be greatly app...

Canjet worked awesome..thanks for the lift guys especially the crew on 774. I've never flown CJA before and was impressed by the level of professionalism and service! If anyone has info on cun-yyz flights on the 25th (sunwing/ canjet/ AT) any load/ time info would be appreciated. I had a look on the...

Sunwing JS with AC
Hey Sunwing guys and gals. I'm a pilot with AC.. looking at going down to CUN out of YYZ for a few days.. I've heard awesome things about the JS agreement and was wondering if anyone could PM me with details on how to get an idea of loads. Also protocol (how to list, dress, what to bring) would be a...

Re: New Contract thread
Hey...here is the deal from what I can figure out. CPA providers (Jazz, Sky regional or anyone else that pops up) can operate up to 60 medium jet aircraft up to 76 seats. Jazz currently has 16 of those 60. For every increase of a MJA above the current 16 at a CPA provider, mainline must also increas...

Re: ACPA Pilots AD in Newspapers Mach 31 2012
RCR.. I'm going to take the bait here. 1) Do you realise pilots only get paid when the aircraft is moving? That hour between every flight where they check the aircraft for mechanical malfunctions? free. Where they go over the route and weather to ensure you have a safe and smooth flght? Free. How ab...

Re: Sky Regional
First of all Jazz's income trust hasnt funelled money away from AC mainline. It simply has lower costs than mainline because of low overhead, low training costs (status pay) and no legacy type costs left over from the days of being a CC. the company uses that to pay dividends to increase the stock p...

Re: B757 ETOPS program cancelled?
First of all LisaS, I wouldn't be too proud that WJ underbid Jazz by using foriegn pilots and foriegn airplanes. Secondly, this sucks for Jazz. Any idea what that means for any future growth with TC? Logistically if there were plans to operate 330's at some point they probably would have continued w...

Re: LCC
I suggest you go sign up at a flight school then. It's pretty hard to operate an airline without pilots. And there is not that many ATPL pilots in Canada.
Good luck with that. If I felt like working for free it'd be coaching soccer for little kids.

Re: New TA reached!
A) Has ACPA asked ALPA for help? If you guys can't figure out how to walk to the other side of the street and ask the world's largest pilot union for advice then is it really their place to shove it down your throat? B) You've taken over a 25% rate cut since 2010. Why should you have to give up ANYT...

Re: New TA reached!
So what I can't figure out is even though we ALL know what is happening why is there still infighting? the only way either group is going to suceed here is together. Forget OAC/CA, Jazz/ AC and all the other bullsh!t. If we don't forget it fast this will be the beginning of the end. You don't want t...

Re: Air Canada Jazz 757 Incident
or you could be realistic and see that although its not up to pilots to merge companies, we can make letters of agreement with each other. There is absolutely no reason why the two groups shouldn't be sitting down and discussing these concerns on a united front. Things like LOU 18 or whatever it was...

Re: Interested by Sky Regional Airlines, please consider
Awesome.. I wish you guys the best of luck and hopefully you come out with a fantastic contract. I would just like to see the two pilot groups look out for each other a bit more. It's not our jobs as pilots so subsidize airlines with shitty wages. People need to fly in Canada.. and if the airlines c...

Re: Interested by Sky Regional Airlines, please consider
The thing everybody is forgetting is we need to seperate this issue- its perspective dependant. From a business perspective this makes 100% sense. AC and for that matter Jazz execs don't care about pilot wages.. they simply want to move x number of pax, at y price so that the company makes money and...

Re: Air Canada Jazz 757 Incident
It's never too late. We are too near sighted to see that the sooner we do this as a group, the better. If we had done it 12 years ago we wouldn't be worried about things like scope, sky regional or other competitors coming in to do our jobs cheaper now. The Jazz and AC pilot groups have 5000 pilots ...

Re: Air Canada Jazz 757 Incident
How is Jazz the competitor? Thomas Cook is the competition.. Jazz just happens to operate their flights. Funny though.. probably wouldn't have happened if the AC guys agreed to one list all those years ago instead of taking their ball home because they didn't like the rules. Maybe it's time to start...
