I'm curious, why would they advertise for a vacancy in September, if they have no intention of hiring until January?

Re: AC is hiring 51 pilots apparently
Im curious; what are the minmums at which they tend to hire at exactly? Not the minimums they have posted on their website, but the experience at which guys are actually getting asked into the interview and getting hired with?
Cheers.

Re: ORNGE Hiring
Any one know what sort of rotation/shift pattern they are running? And, is 'On call' accomodation provided, or is it just a case of 'sit at home and wait for the beeper to go off'?
Many Thanks,
Many Thanks,

Re: COCKPIT CHATTER CITED IN SIX CRASHES
Ever heard the phrase "what happens in the cockpit, stays in the cockpit" ? Unfortunately we have now enterd the era where the cockpit is no longer a private enviroment, and EVERYTHING you touch, say, do, or don't do, is now henceforth wide open for scrutiny buy management, analyists, and lawers; an...

Re: FNT Temporary suspension?
Now I know that TC doesn't exactly have a huge fan club here on Avcanada.....and no doubt for very good reasons in some cases...
But....
......Sorry guys, but in this perticular case they were absolutley right. This shutdown was WAY long overdue; trust me, FNT was an accident waiting to happen.

Re: Lear 35-YWG
Didn't Keewatin have a couple of L 35's a few years back? I recall that they sold that part of the operation off to an outfit calling themselves 'Canadian Global' ? I'm not sure, maybe some body 'in the know' can enlighten us on this one. Curious that they are getting back into the jet's again. I ho...

Re: Don't be a whore (help me respond to an email)
Supply and demand pretty much covers it.....the harsh reality I'm afraid. We pilots get the industry we deserve.
(I digress, but don't 'whores' get renumerated for their services? Hell! I've come across some enthusiastic amatures that still managed to cost me a small fortune.......)

Re: Helicopters or Fixed Wing???
Stl, Thanks for your advice there. The company I work for does both IFR and VFR (bush) type of flying; and also operates a helicopter. So getting that second sting to the bow it's not something I have written off quite just yet. However, as you mentioned, the current state of the aviation industry a...

Re: Helicopters or Fixed Wing???
I'm just curious. I have looked at getting an RW licence for a while, but the cost has always scared me off. Apparently I can get some credit for my FW experience during training, but not much. In your oppinion, do you think any potential employers would give credit to a brand new helo pilot for any...

Anyone got any infomation on this one; unless I'm missing something, the link they have on the post dosn't seem to be perticularly forthcoming.

Having flown resonably extensively in West Africa, you have to remember that when you head out to that part of the world you are in a totaly different enviroment in just about every way imaginable. All bets are off. No one, (except you presumably), cares anything about personal safety, both in the a...

Re: FAA Licence Conversion
Thanks for your responses guys. Flybabe; to answer your question, I originaly grew up in the TC system, but conveted over to the FAA as I had the oppertunity to fly an 'N' Reg Aircraft, (not in the US, but in the Middle East). I am now looking at returning back to Canada, and would rather do the one...

FAA Licence Conversion
I have been doing some resurch on this one...... I have a Canadian CPL IR, and converted it to an FAA Equivelant; and since then went on to get my FAA ATPL. Now, to convert my FAA ATPL over to a Canadian ATPL, all I need to do is a short conversion exam, and prseto! A Canadian ATPL right?! Well....n...

Re: Cleared ILS, G/S U/S....???
Curious, as already said, and maybe a bit of an 'Opps' from ATC perhaps. But before we get too emotional about it all; there are quite a few wierd ones I've had from other corners of the world: "....hold 9 miles inbound on the 210 radial, maintain 500'...." (Asia) but I have to say that my personal ...

Yep.... like most guys (if they are honest with you), I once had day dreams of cute flight attendants, gold bars and big jets. But now to be honest, the more I find out about the airlines the less I want anything to do with em'
