Canadian Flight Trainers has a full article on depression and getting a medical in aviation. You need to prove stability when going on or off any SSRIs before you can get a medical.

Like any academic presentation, be careful of copyright infringement and cite your sources appropriately. It might also seem nice and easy to paste a bunch of words on a screen, but be aware that doing so might make the student feel like a recipient of your lecture as opposed to an active learner in...

Do the PPAER and PPL flight test when you're 16. Use them as credit to obtain the Rec permit, and then apply for the PPL on the 17th birthday.

Re: Cat I medical & ADHD

ADHD For Pilots In Alberta, the CAMEs can see your provincial medical file. That means that if you are diagnosed with ADHD, they'll see. The guidance by Transport Canada essentially says that if you meet the diagnostic criteria for having ADHD according to the DSM-5, that is disqualifying. Whether ...

Re: Human Factors For Aviation Book

This page says that a PDF version exists somewhere in the TC cloud. https://publications.gc.ca/site/eng/9.895259/publication.html You used to be able to click a "View PDF" link on that page and view a really high quality version of it, similar to how they publish the Flight Training Manual for free.

The Human Factors Instructor's Guide is available on the TC website for free in PDF format. You'll likely have to dig for it or email their publications desk, but it is there.

At what stage in one's aviation journey should the exhilarating pursuit of aerobatic flying commence? Furthermore, how does one discern the opportune moment to delve into such thrilling maneuvers? Equally compelling is the quest for institutions that specialize in this niche training. Could you ill...

Does creating a block function allow you to continue with whatever rhetoric you have without being criticized? I persona...

You've literally gone and slandered me in the past on this forum without having any sort of discourse with me or knowing anything about me. I find your statement about respect ridiculous and absurd.

Maybe by the end of the year .. but not in the short term. Unless a bunch of junior guys jump to AC .. time will tell. Lots of junior pilots have already left and are flying at other jobs. They've kept their place at AT in case their new jobs don't work out well enough. The company won't know they'...

Stanhope (CND4) to Pembrooke (CYTA) to Ottawa (CYOW). This route was seen on the PPAER exam.

Maniwacki, to YTA NDB, to Deerhurst Resort, to Muskoka, to Deerhurst Resort Again. This was seen on a CPAER exam.

Grimsby - London - Gore Bay - Sault Ste. Marie. I just made this up.

Good luck!

SVFR is only applicable to control zones and does not extend into other classes of controlled airspace. That includes Class C, D and E control zones in Canada.

Answer to scenario 1 is that you must maintain VFR as required by law. Scenario 2 is a yes.

I would suggest sending in a complaint to TC. The AP’s are Ministers delegates, that is they represent the Transport Minister when performing AP duties. If you are not happy with the response from an AP and are unsuccessful with a direct appeal to them then your only recourse is to complain to TC S...

One of the only times I was genuinely frightened in an aircraft was when my seat slid back unexpectedly as I was entering a loop. I think using your post-secondary education to earn different qualifications right now would be worth it. Lots of these diplomas and degrees from colleges can easily be turned into a Bachelor of Education which could give you a teaching job to fall back on in the future.
