Re: Cargojet or Flair?
The Cargojet numbers are pretty accurate especially with a bit of a bottleneck in the training department. Line indoc can be slow. Once you’re released its basically unlimited OT especially for FO’s so you could see 50-60 a month if you push. I was scheduled for 55 this month ended up with 35 after ...

Ad has now changed to 200gt and Kodiak Pilot. 3 weeks on 1 off. During the full time kodiak pilots week off one of the GT pilots will cover the Kodiak. Eventual move to the Falcon. 200-300 hrs per year. King air travels about a 1 hr radius. Mostly Mon- friday. Mostly a week scheduled in advance, occ...

Re: 1200TT pilot with jet time advice
I did apply to Cargojet but haven’t received any call yet, quite early though as I applied few days ago. I assisted to a virtual conference and they said that the 1500 requirement can be adjusted for some candidates. Not feeling like an exception but we’ll see how it goes in the next few days. Than...

Re: 1200TT pilot with jet time advice
Time’s a little low but with jet time on Boeing, cargojet might be an option. Medium busy schedule 300-400 a year. Widebody, 15 days a month max. Training department a bit backed up on line indoc these days though. Cargojet is hard 1500TT. They do also prefer some MPIC time but the main obstacle is...

Re: Who should pay for the extra seat for large passengers?
For the record I’m 5’9” and 250-260lbs. On some airlines my knees are touching (looking at you rouge) but on no airline am I spilling over onto my neighbour. I’m big. I need to lose weight. I can still crawl into a Navajo or King Air though. At the size we are talking to need two seats its absolutel...

They tell you in the interview that you could be awarded any of the bases and types. If anyone has a problem with that they don’t have to accept the job offer. It’s not like it’s a surprise when you show up for groundschool. At least it’s not 2 weeks until you know like AC Instead of making it a mo...

Re: Getting back into flying after a hiatus
I took over 10 years off from flying. Now at the time I had less than 400 hrs. I sent out resumes. Did a recurrency with an instructor. Found a job relatively quickly in 2018. Got Cancer. Delayed the job till 2019 haha. Worked steady ever since (if slowly on medevac) now I’m a Turbine Captain with i...

Re: Ridiculous Customer Service
I suspect part of the problem is the sheer amount of gate checked, carry-ons that are required due to the flights being full. Also, though I have never seen slower ground crew in my life. This coming from former ground crew at Pearson, I watched one person slowly walk up the jetway stairs grab one r...

Re: Ridiculous Customer Service
Yeah that reminds me I have a damaged baggage claim with WestJet from February when they ripped the handle clean of my brand new luggage and had no one at the desk just a QR code to file a claim. Nothing since and when you go to the site to look it up there is nothing that tells you status just “yep...

Ridiculous Customer Service
I’m flying from Winnipeg to Quebec City through Toronto. My flight is delayed leaving Winnipeg for no real reason just slow boarding and even slower loading (which seems to be more and more frequent as I travel). When I land in Toronto I’m greeted with an email and text from Air Canada telling me my...

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/ontario-engineer-regulations-1.6851909 We saw the police plan last month... Engineers taking the first hit this month. I anticipate nurses, doctors, pilots etc will be next. Lower the requirements and bring in mass immigration. You think it's hard to fight for...
