This is not the location for locking out emergency slide. To lockout emergency slide pin location is near door opening handle located underneath a clear removable panel on the door.I believe this may be an storage location but i will check it out next time im onboard an A310 maybe later today.

You obviously know more on this topic than I. All I know is a KF employee told me that they purchased 2 more DC-10's and the 3rd one was currently in YHM undergoing a C check by KFC maintenance. Please share with us what you know.
