I spent the summer of 03 as a skydive pilot in Didsbury, AB. Definitively one of the best summers I ever had.

Got some freefall in, gained some good contacts, and flew a decent airplane (for a skydive operation).

The DZ I worked at is no longer in operation but what I gained has been beneficial.

It still boggles my mind that a 19 year-old a high school drop-out with nothing can make significantly more money driving a truck in Alberta than an Air Canada new hire... Find me a four year old kid that lists driving a truck in Northern Alberta as one of the top three things they want to do when ...

A wonderful flying career cut short by what looks like the kind of flying that made him who he was: always pushing the limits.

Career cut short? Dude was 84 years old. If I can make it to the can on my own let alone fly an airplane, I'll be pretty happy with that. Godspeed Scotty, Godspeed.

Possible mountain experience? How do you figure that? You either have mountain time or you don't have mountain time; there is no semi-mountain time. If you are unsure if you are flying in the mountains, chances are its not mountain time.

So when do airlines start applying these restrictions to passengers? Have a base fare set at 150 pounds or the "average" passenger weight and then the fare goes on a per pound basis. Probably won't ever happen as that would be discriminatory to those in the upper reaches of weight in the population....

People generally sue whoever has the deepest pockets regardless of whether they are directly responsible for the final outcome. I believe this tactic does not work as well in Canada as it does in the US, however, many times that goal of a lawsuit is an out of court settlement for an undisclosed sum ...
