Why is it amazing? FYI, Mods can have opinions too, and as long as we play by the rules, all's fair in love and war. Please feel free to refer to the Forum Rules. stl "You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening , sexually-oriented or any other material that...

Let me guess, their insurance company demands 500 TT for driving the Shop-Vac. Do you have to pay for the PPC?Wacko wrote: Also, they said they don't hire guys who don't have their minimum TT... (500 I think).

Re: Sudbury to shut down tower and become FSS...WTF
Hedley, I'm not sure I said I ever ignored an FSS suggestion, even when the FSS wanted me to turn towards a large piece of cumulus granite despite the suggestion made. Simply turning in the correct direction and advising FSS was all that was required. I don't see how one could ever get violated for ...

Re: Sudbury to shut down tower and become FSS...WTF
JPC, I love how you think we pilots are idiots and seem to want to crash into each other. Nice to see that's the view of ATC. I can only speak for myself, but I appreciate suggestions made by FSS, and I know that they are only suggestions and not ATC clearances or directives. I have, on a couple occ...

On a different matter all together, the real threat can potentially come from south of the border whereby American Regional carriers could be invited to make their own pitch for an AC CPA. How could this legally take place other than if the American Carrier in question was bought out by a Canadian ...

It's not even the legalities of his situation that get me. Truth be told I may have done something similar when I was building time, but for friends and family. .'s right that TC seems to want to get their paws into every little facet of aviation with rules and regs. A long time ago I taught at a sc...

Ummm, last time I checked it was the PIC's responsibility to ensure all the proper flight planning procedures were followed, not the flight school the airplane was rented from. All this info is easy to find on the internet. I'm going to assume from the ability to post here that access to this infor...

Here we go again... A medevac is a medevac is a medevac. Have been asked before "Are you a priority medevac?" Obviously people have been abusing the status for ATC to be asking. Guys around here have many interpretations but I think it's just a matter of simple common sense and professionalism. :) C...

Doc, I'm just going to assume that our experiences in this type of flying differ a little. You're making a few generalizations that I haven't really come across. But different locations, different experiences. I have seen a couple of pretty questionable medevacs, as I alluded to earlier, but obvious...

Oh, and to all those "professionals" who transmit on the ATF and then immediately switch to repeat the process on 126.7, I would like to ask if you are REALLY listening on the ATF while being on 126.7. Personally, I see this as dumb. You have no business being on any other than the ATF within 5 mile...

Had a few of those too Doc. And I agree it's often abused. But it's the doctor's call to medevac them, not mine. And unless I hear otherwise, I treat them all the same. In Alberta we're not even supposed to know anything at all about the patient, let alone their medical status. Cheers Edited cause w...

As pilots, we are neither doctors, nurses or paramedics. I for one am not going to judge a patient's condition based on what I see when they are getting on the plane. I personally have seen a "walk-on" take a turn for the worse in flight and die by the time we got to the city. I've also been told by...
