Anybody know if Fort Frances Air is still operating?
Google doesn't tell you which companies hire lowtime guys unfortunately. Just thought somebody on here would have a little knowledge.
Thanks

Fort Frances Area
Just wondering how the employment market is around the Fort Frances area. Any of the float operators take on fresh commercial pilots? Is Fort Frances Air still operating? Thanks.

Re: IFR upgrade?
As it stands right now, you can upgrade your Group 3 to a Group 1 with a simple IFR renewal ride in an approved FTD. A number of flight schools are now doing this. That being said, the regulator could put a policy statement out to change that at any time. I am assuming that you would need your mult...

Did you end up upgrading in a FTD or did you have to use an airplane?apoorv wrote:I'd like to do the ILS, that's not even the concern here. What I wanna know is, can the upgrade be done on a approved FTD?

Is he gone? Good. Now, all you hungry pilots (and rampies, maintenance people, etc.), here is how we can score some free Timmy Ho's grub. Do a quick search on this forum for the company name that bought Walsten awhile back and search that name in the TC registration database. Write down all the Bee...

Re: Use time in florida wisely
The above sounds correct with the exception of the US medical. My foreign license validation is in process right now with my Canadian Medical. If you wish to do a conversion (stand alone FAA) instead of a validation then you need a medical. Sounds right, I was going for the FAA Commercial so I went...

Re: Use time in florida wisely
Last time I checked you only need to register with the TSA for Private, Instrument, and Initial Multi training. As Canadians we don't need a Visa to enter the states unlike some countries where you need a Visa just to visit. As for renting a plane, you can get a FAA Private based on your TCCA Licenc...

Re: Intensive private licence course
I have concerns converting the FAA private licence to a canadian private licence, but TC seems to say only a written exam will be needed to convert. Has anyone been this route ? I'm in quebec, so anything close to me would be preferable if you know any. Thanks Converting is not hard at all. One exa...

I just did my rating with a fellow by the name of Randy Hanna through the Floatplane Academy. Here's the website: http://www.seaplaneacademy.ca/index.htm. He does the training out of Quenelle Lake just outside of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. I did the 7 hour course with him and learned way more in ...

Re: PPL Canada to US
This route will give you a stand alone FAA PPL. If you do not want to write the simple conversion exam, you get an FAA PPL based on your Canadian PPL. Do I dare ask what the difference is? I was researching this a few months ago because of a family trip to Hawaii. I wanted to be able to rent an ame...
