Use of APU

Ok I gotta ask.

I’ve flown porter quite abit the past couple months and they NEVER use the APU. Even with this heat wave, we are sitting in an overheating aircraft and it’s not on.

What gives? Did the company pull them from the planes or what?

Jumpseat.

Hi,

I see jumpseaters now have to pay. Does this mean that there will be more than one jumpseater at a time?

Save yourself the time and go somewhere else.

This is literally the worst place in the country to work (ie, worst pay, schedule, life style, management, etc.)

Re: DOH merge.

I just started at TS and can say this. There is no way in hell ACPA or any AC pilot should allow any affiliate. My understanding of your scope language in the contract is that it is not going to happen, so don’t open any doors for it to happen as in 5 years Calvin will ram it down your throat. If th...

Re: Lots of new routes to the US

That’s what happens when you have the guy that started Canada Jetlines running the show at Flair. The 737 400s In YLW no longer belong to Flair they have been returned to KFC. But that being said Current pilots are looking for options elsewhere. No communication from mgmt and constant changes. Flair...

The price of a house in Winnipeg has gone up astronomically in the past 10 years that it has really become almost unaffordable for many. As for living being better, well I was there 9 years and moved to Tbay and couldn’t be happier. Some would say that Calgary is way better (I wouldn’t). Everyone’s ...

I have the DC pro x and love it. Flown everything from a single piston, multi turbine, corporate jet, q400 and have zero complaints. I got them cause I don’t think they clamp at all compared to others I’ve used.

Re: One list

Oh it’s not just in the LOU. There is another document that was agreed to prior to this going to the pilot group for a vote to show that the company and the encore pilots are in favour of the flow agreement. Now that the one list has failed, this document will come into play. Flow is not in the Enco...

Re: One list

We’re not “screwing over our Encore brothers and sisters”. We’re standing up for ourselves(and for our Encore brothers and sisters when they flow over). Don’t worry, a large percentage of our pilot group still wants some form of one list. The company wants some form of one list. We, the pilot group...

Re: Lay-Off And Scope Considerations of the One List LOA

Mr. Ball for President....Very well put as always. I will clarify one aspect, which is minor. There is no technically, it is a pure CPA. So if the Company wanted to grow Encore to 100 tails which than resulted in a mainline layoff, as you said, the company would be in breach of the WestJet CBA. It i...

Re: One list

What top up pay ? During Bargaining the Encore pilots negotiated a $1200 a month top up for a period of 24 months. Effectively this allows a pilot to flow and be close to year 3 pay at mainline. Former Encore pilots are mad because they chose to flow 1 month to 2 years ago, get the benefit of YOS a...

Re: Jazz Dash 8 and Menzies Fuel Truck Collide in YYZ

Sweet Jesus, How in the world do you collide with the front of the aircraft, swing around missing the prop and wing and hit the tail. The one picture makes it look like the truck hit the plane, backed up around the plane and went to far and struck it again.... Hope the crew is doing well, based on t...

Re: One list

I am not going to go deep into this discussion other than to add one question based on history. Back in the Air Ontario days, the Air Canada pilots and Air Ontario pilots got together to discuss a potential merger of the lists. These discussions fell apart and led to a deep divide between the groups...

What about YRL - YPM. With the amount of heavy lifts between there I thought for sure it’d be up there.😁
