Re: Swoop
1) I'm living in the world i've worked in for 20 years. I've seen amazing operators and the slimiest. 2) MMM, if you read my other posts you'd also know that I am not a Q4 Captain as I left that role for a right seat early in the year. 1/3 of my total time is right seat and have no issues sitting in...

Swoop
I could have gone to Swoop while I was with Encore as a DOC and ran away as fast as I could knowing what all the work rules are. So I am genuinely curious as to why is anyone going now that there is even more information on how bad it really is out there. They are clearly the worst operator in Canad...

Re: Swoow in-person interview
WHY in the pink F*&K would you want to put yourself through swoop????
Go fly a navajo up north, you'll have a better schedule, make more money, and maybe get treated the same.

Re: Commuting with Swoop
Extremely hard to commute when working 20 days a month.
I do believe swoop folks have full westjet travel privileges, however there is nothing between YHM and YYZ so that will be quite hard and at your own accord.

Re: One List
This keeps coming up in this topic. It's not industry standard. You guys make it quite easy come time to negotiate. All management has to do is read this drivel and see the working group is ok with JUST industry standard and ANYTHING outside that just won't fly. Wouldn't it be nice to set the bar an...

Well here is another low cost carrier that’s about to launch, albeit not how you may think.

Re: Minimum rest in the 703 world
Not that I am aware of, I just know which company got their tilly whapped for this and had to stop. This was back in about 2015-16.
If a call was put into prairie region, I am sure you would get their answer.

Re: Minimum rest in the 703 world
First, in which province are you working?? Although the way the CARs are written makes it blurry and operators do this, there has been a precedence set in Manitoba that TC (Prairie region) has actually stopped this practice as it is certainly NOT the way it was meant to be used. Avcanada is not the ...
Re: One List
What the **** does ACPA have to do with a WestJet/Encore seniority list? Could not agree more. Who cares what Air Canada is doing with their regionals and seniority lists. The Encore pilots have stood with you holding hands through your entire negotiation, where as 95% of mainline pilots stood with...

Re: Hiring outlook
Now this is an informative post that I agree with. Capts are working 17-18 days a month not the 12 as previously claimed. I am happy to hear that your not getting extended any more as that was complete BS. G'day Just to add some nuance and facts: Due to a shortage of Captains in YYZ, some scheduling...

Re: Hiring outlook
The last time the flow was three years was about 2 years ago. Simple math now makes it easy. 550 pilots / 75 (this is about what flows per year) flow per year = 7 years. Subtract the resignations and the few that flow than that number might come down to about 5, maybe 6 years. What's the flow speed ...

Re: Hiring outlook
This is quite possibly one of the dumbest posts here. Stay at Encore, work 18 days a month for low pay and get extended all the time to hopefully flow to the bottom of the list in 6 years and start over. Or go to jazz where they have a better contract and pay for a career. Yes you interview at AC ma...

Re: Upgrade Matrix
With the shortage of Captains, forecasted future hiring at AC and WestJet, etc will there be some leeway on the upgrade matrix? For example, Jazz upgrades tend to come pretty quick (as low as 6 months). A 1500 hour pilot at Encore would have to hit the hour requirement on the Q400 or wait 2 years. ...

Re: Evas
Right to work in Canada is the biggest issue. So Atlantic Canada Immigration Pilot is a real tool to get it. As far as I know there is no other Airline which offers participation in such program... Thats because no other airline is as shitty as EVAS. The fact they have that program, with a Halifax ...

Hi there, If your curious as to when you’ll hear with the latest posting it should be in the next week or so. Although the ad is up, they are building the resume pool again and will start calling soon. The interviews for this round will be lined up for sometime in Nov. I would guess that they will t...

Re: Westwind 1124 ACP and Line Indoc Pilot
Speaking of Top Aces. Anyone knows the story of why their Westwind has been sitting in Dawson Creek for a couple of weeks dripping fuel from the centre tank all over the place? The westwind is notorious for leaking fuel while it sits. It’s not a lot by any means but if left unchecked than it will c...

So now “Westjet Pilots” will be flying aircraft for their direct competitor. I.e, lets partner with Westjet Vacations direcT competitor. What will the mangers come up with next.
