Re: Air Sprint Questions
One thing we are set on (as the pilot group) is tying any new scale to the inflationary index. We expect word back on it’s result in the next couple months, again, that’s coming directly from management. I saw the new pay scale posted. Is it tied to the inflationary index? As is being spiritually d...

Re: Watch out Trudeau is coming for your job
Wait, has Trudeau started flight training? I guess a lot of guys consider a mid-life career change into aviation when they get tired of the 9-5, or in his case the 24/7. But not to worry, it will still take him a few years to get CPL, Multi and IFR rated, especially if he's only flying a few times a...

Re: AirSprint - Updated Pilot Career Guide
Hi Pilotguy53, We do not have a reciprocal or jumpseat agreement as we are unable to return the favor. We do allow staff (and their friends and family) to fly on our own aircraft when there are empty legs (owner is not on board), however these types of flights could not be used to commute reliably....

Re: AirSprint - Updated Pilot Career Guide
You are completely correct that our pay scales are not indexed to inflation as airlines typically do. We are not an airline. AirSprint regularly keeps track of where the industry is going and we adjust to ensure we stay competitive. Additionally, as the company grows we can make additional improvem...

Re: AirSprint - Updated Pilot Career Guide
Hi Matt, Adam, and James, I just thought I'd take a look at the new career guide's salary structure in regards to the old one with respect to inflation. All of this was done with the 2018 career guide salary chart, which I've attached, the 2022 career guide available at the top of this thread, and t...

Re: Air Sprint Questions
This seems to imply you have some more information? About the two individuals specifically? Afraid not, thankfully I am not in touch with that organization directly anymore. Even if I did, anything I say specifically will be cheerily rebuked by one of the upper management types that run the ...

Re: Air Sprint Questions
Very early in the pandemic in mid-March a few pilots from secondary bases were laid off. It would not be right to speak in more detail about former employees on a public forum but these initial layoffs were not temporary and came at a different time than the subsequent temporary layoffs in May. Jam...

Re: Air Sprint Questions
Ottawa has always been an approved airport since the secondary base structure was brought in last year. To be fair, Adam, the original announcement of secondary bases did not include Ottawa, the announcement was amended about a week later to include YOW. Probably a moot point, since the announcemen...

Re: Air Sprint Questions
Hi Matt, Just wondering if it would be possible (feasible) to work at AirSprint at yyz or yul and commute from Halifax? Halifax was on the original list of potential secondary bases that was floated by management when they were first considering the idea and surveying the pilots, but mostly only we...

Re: Corporate Rotational Work in YYZ
As far as traditional corporate flight departments go there are none in YYZ that I know of that offer rotational work. Fractional or charter outfits may be different. AirSprint has been advertising a lot this last year and they seem to offer two weeks on two weeks off or something like that. At air...

Re: Air Sprint Questions
If you like your work day to change all the time, change FP in mid air, set up customs in mid air, and additional unpredictability beyond a normal corporate FD, then this is the place for you. Hectic and busy will be the words to describe this place. Hi Alcoholism, As a Fractional operator, we are ...

Re: AirSprint Fleet Transition
Halifax was canvassed as an original Sub-base option by management when first discussing sub bases (including St. John's as well if I recall), but for whatever reason did not make the final list. Sub bases are primarily a Western Canada thing, the only sub base that made it originally out East was Q...

Re: re cp . 703 eagle air
Dear Dan Your lack of flying skill and ability does not constitute fault on my part. You are incompetent, and from what I've been told, a terrible pilot with a long history of screw ups. The POI dislikes you, and is pleased that you are no longer part of the operation. I will always remember the pa...

Re: probationary period
I got fired during a probationay period once, basically for reasons beyond my control, basically small misunderstandings and prejudice, as I was not allowed to work my way out of these misunderstandings and prejudices no matter how I tried. Anyway, I took it to the union, even though I was in my pro...

http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/about/integrity/online.shtml Sunwing is applying for 120 TFW pilots this winter. This is where you complain. The complaint process is under Tab 3 If you are qualified under their ad and are overlooked in favor of TFW pilots, you can and should file a complaint. Su...

well that was random!! What? That an original poster would finally follow up and conclude a thread? I think it's nice to see the OP following up, and adding a conclusion. In this case they're happy they didn't go to Wabusk, and since the original post was asking about what he or she needed in order...

Out of curiosity, what peaked your interest at the time of applying considering you guys both declined when given an interview? Usually you only apply for jobs that you would want. Maybe I'm wrong. lol Apply to anything you may decide you want later. Also, never say no to a free trip to Vanc...

Was offered also and declined, had they been paying my way to Vancouver I would have considered it, but like you said, not going to pay my own way (and my own hotel and meals etc) to interview for a job I'm (likely) not interested in. If they were covering the cost, or if I lived in the Vancouver ar...

Last time I applied to this outfit (not to the most recent ad, the one from June 2011) we were also promised responses to all serious applications. So I made mine super-tailored to the specific posting they had had at the time, and still got nothing. So I wouldn't hold your breath, I'm sure the Ops ...
