Here we go again. I'll tell ya what scares me. The fact that most of the guys and gals in business attire in the back have more time on type or just time in aircraft period than the right seat!!!!!!

If you really want to loose the pounds, the weight room is the place to be. Weight lifting really cranks up the bodies furnace and it start to burn all the calories. It has to be combined with proper eating and cardio. Go nuts but watch your back. Always lift smart.

I hate to say it but it's time for the grunts to get out of the vehicles and start walking. It's probably a lot safer. I think the CDS should watch Appocalipse Now. He might get an idea two on combat transport.

effct of oil

Katie Curic just announced on the CBS evening news that United Airlines is considering parking up to100 aircraft due to the cost of fuel. That kind of fever can spread very quickly. I hope it doesn't come to fruitition.

The effect of high oil prices on aviation

hey everyone. Turned on ROB this morning and saw that C$ has reached $1.10 US before falling back slightly. Most of this is a direct result of the price of crude oil. With a barrel flirting with the $100.00 barrel mark, just wondering what everyones thoughts are with regards to aviation. In any case...

Suddenly all the negative aspects of flying, low pay, shitty places to live, bad bosses, clapped out aircraft, crappy wx, union bs, layoffs, downturns in the industry doesn't seem so bad compared to the "rat race". I for one am like a kid with a new toy at Christmas everytime I get to go flying. In ...

standby privilages for 703 carrier crews

I'm wondering if someone at WJ can clarify some information for me. Can flight crews in CAR 703 operations with a scheduled service apply for standby passes on WJ? If so how would they go about applying for such a privilage. Thanks.

This certainly sound like a cash grab to me and an opportunity to shrink the training school pool. If there is a silver lining to this story for the schools in Ottawa its that Quebec is just across the river. Not sure if the corporate tax structure in Quebec would prohibit a move across the river bu...

I have driven a truck intercity for a global courier company. It is for the most part dull work with no room for advancement. If you have to unload your own truck it really sucks. If your truck doesn't have a/c or cloth seats then life get really bad. The skill level to drive a truck is far below th...

Question to anyone. Would you go to India and get on an Airbus or RJ with one of these 500 wonders behind the C/C? I thought not. I wouldn't either. I think it would be safer on the train over there and we all know how safe that is.

On the topic of pilots being underpaid. My X brother in law drives a streetcar for TTC. Salary. 90K plus overtime. You could also earn 70K+ filling out P/O's at a lumber store in the GVRD. I think that job requires about 2 hours of OJT before you are cut loose for solo P/O filling. Or how about inst...

I have always wondered about the conspiracy aspect of 9/11 but dismissed it until I viewed the surveillance camera video of the so called aircraft hitting the pentagon. That sure didn't look like an aircraft to me. A missile, perhaps but not a commercial airliner. But where do you hide a multi milli...

Don't forget here folks, these guys will have less than 300 hours for the most part. I guess it was only a matter of time before this happened. I can't say that I blame these plaintiffs though. This lawyer was pretty stupid, errogant and just reckless when he decided to board the Czech Airlines flight to YUL. He knowingly put the lives of others at risk. I don't think I want that gu...
