Re: Wow I thought salaries were on the rise

Just got some information on pay increases in the US. It seems Flexjet is increasing their starting pay for new hires The base pay as a new co pilot on the Phenom, Legacy or Challenger will start at $135,00 US for 15 days per month schedule. When you add in all the soft money it will be over $155,00...

Re: Convert Canadian ATPL to FAA

160k is relatively low for a flying job in America. Definitely better places to hang your hat I'll stick with the heavy biz jets making 250K+ Fraction flying schedules are a nightmare, flying multiple legs daily with not so great short layovers is not my idea of a good time. Pay me well and let me ...

Re: Convert Canadian ATPL to FAA

How many of you guys managed to get a job at an airline over there considering that you're still canadian and not an American citizen yet I was hired and sponsored by an America business jet operator. The licence conversion took a few weeks, and the O-1 work visa takes 15 days for approval if your ...

Re: Porter Airlines: Direct Entry Captain - Embraer E2

Let me guess...they won't find enough people (aka don't pay enough) and plead the need for foreign workers. Considering there has been numerous opportunities for that to occur and hasn’t been done, it’s safe to say it won’t. This form is amazing. A company starts a new operation up, announces every...

Re: Salary Survey 2022

Well, that's a little egg on the recruiters face, at least you let them down softly. Though, you should be honest with them and just say my current salary package is X. I had a few recruiters reach out over the past year from various institutions and in every case the salary or conditions (or reput...

Re: Salary Survey 2022

Given taxation (both income and consumption) and cost of living (housing) there is no offer in Canada, including B777 CA, that can compete with a US opportunity. As a matter of fact a good friend of mine is a 777 CA in Canada and he told me last summer how he can wait to get up to my pay scale. But...

Re: Salary Survey 2022

The Airline in Canada found me on LinkedIn and contacted me probably because my profile came up in a search meeting all of their requirements. The reason I paid so much is tax is that the US first took $83000 US from my pay cheque which is $112000 Canadian then the Canadian government says I still d...

Re: Salary Survey 2022

I work in the US but live in Canada and can confirm the pay rates listed in the US airline pilot forum are about right. I have recently had an offer for a job as a direct entry captain in Canada. The recruiter was so proud to say the starting pay would be $122k Canadian. I thanked them and said I wo...

Just watched the W5 story tonight and can tell you I will be avoiding Signature in YYZ until that ramp manager and the company answer some questions that W5 had.

Nope, busy as ever.
Still hiring and getting new birds.

The customers just have to look at the news stories on tv coming out of YYZ and the passenger horror stories and if they can afford it they will fly private.

Re: Congratulations pilots you made it to the top 5

I have to admit that On some long flights I listened to some wild divorce stories.

On occasion I totally understood the ex wives. I could barely stand being in the cockpit with some guys more then a few hours I couldn’t imagine having to live with them.

Re: Highest Paid Corporate pilots in Canada?

Here is a little pay comparison I posted in another forum. As you can see Canadian pilots are severely underpaid in all sectors of aviation. Here is the first officer pay scale for as advertised by Air Sprint and Flexjet for a first year Legacy/Praetor co pilot. 16 day schedule per month on same typ...

Seeing as pilot pay is increasing everywhere lets see how Air Sprint compares to other fractional operators. Here is the first officer pay scale for as advertised by Air Sprint and Flexjet for a first year Legacy/Praetor co pilot. 16 day schedule per month on same type of aircraft doing same job. Ye...

Re: for the ramp job, What wage is being offered for the job?

I just saw a post for “Pilot in Waiting”
I was not too sure what that was so I looked it up. I assume that it is something like “Lady in Waiting” since the description of both seems to be the same.

Re: CANPASS

Our company put out a message to all pilots to expect at least an hour wait on hold with Canpass and to call the evening before when you have time to sit for and hour on hold. Last month on one trip we waited 1+10 the second time it was only 1+00 wait on hold. I am not sure wife it a labour action o...
