Re: Georgian AD

There is definitely something coming. I saw on one of their social media posts, a picture of their blank CRJ with the caption "Exciting things are happening".

I sure hope they stick around. Just more opportunities for pilots.

Wonder what the OP ended up doing. If you're still undecided, just remember money ain't everything. Job satisfaction goes a long way in terms of happiness and health. I joined aviation during 9/11 and I had a really tough time getting my first fo job and took forever to upgrade. The pay after my fi...

Re: What do you do when you think someone should never fly again?

I would never condone slandering another human in the workplace or giving out a bad/negative reference. I have however seen the systems in place through the training departments work to remove these individuals from the operating environment or keeping them in a first officers position indefinitely...

Re: Are Amber Alerts affecting your flight safety?

It's probably easy to say that if it was your kid, you wouldn't want to wake up half the province to let them know, until it is your kid. I don't mind the alert though, I've endured worse things in life. I do notice it's a constant thing in Ontario, and almost rarely happens in the west where I resi...

Re: 1900 operators in Canada

Is Northern Thunderbird Air not around anymore? I havent been in the game for a while.I guess they were part of CMA. NT Air and CMA 1900s are all dual registered. I don't believe Carson has any 1900's, unless they recently acquired one. Also, Georgian is no longer utilizing the 1900 as far as I kno...

*REDUCED* BOSE ProFlight noise cancelling aviation headset - YVR

I bought this headset in December and have used it a couple of months. It's a fantastic headset, especially for the jet. It's lightweight and comfortable and the audio clarity is amazing. The tap to disable noise cancelling on an individual earpiece is a really neat feature. I can provide a copy of ...

I think you can claim it only if your employer provides a letter stating they do NOT provide them, but they are a necessity for crews to acquire to perform their duties.

Re: Air Canada Express Carrier EVAS Air Now accepting applications from pilots holding foreign licences/qualifications

I don't get the rebranding. Like you said it's an AC flight booked through AC. As far as the passengers are concerned it's AC. So what does taking AC off the side of the plane accomplish? It's usually only other employees who see it anyway. So when the gear collapses on another GGN or EVAS 1900, th...

Re: Air Canada Express Carrier EVAS Air Now accepting applications from pilots holding foreign licences/qualifications

What's with all their planes being painted white and having the Air Canada markings removed? Noticed that when I was in Halifornia the other day. Let me axe you question; If you were the "Flag Carrier" of your country, would you want your name on the side of aircraft belonging to "SkeetAir Air"? Na...

Re: Air Georgian

They have joined alpa but from my understanding it's still the worst place to work. The few I knew there have since left to Encore and Cargojet. Typical work day is 13 hours. It's probably the worst decision you could make to join that company. I'm sure you can find someone who works there currentl...

I see there have been several adds for Ag. pilots lately. As far as I am concerned that is the best flying job in aviation. The best job in aviation is in the eye of the beholder, plain and simple. To some, it's spraying. To others, it's corporate, airline, medevac, fire suppression, survey, cargo,...

Abbotsford Airshow 2016

Hey all,

It's been over a decade since I've been to the Abbotsford Airshow. Does anyone know if a red pass or airline affiliation gets you any deals? Has anyone does the runway seating? I see they have a flight club section where you get bar service. That might be fun lol.

Cheers

Re: Air Georgian 1900 pilot schedule

I have heard from some people that they end up with 8 days off a month, and management tries to screw pilots on those days, it must be awesome for the commuters. As for training the company only pays a hotel room for the duration of 2 weeks, some guys sleep in their car after that. I can't believe ...
