Re: 2026 PIT FLEET AC
When was it the last time YVR base was offered right out of the gate? Just curious. I want to say around mid 2023 Yeah, my buddy just got hired he interviewed last July and just got the call. Slow process rn. I couldn't tell you how long base transfers will take but its been up and down in the last...

Re: What's life like as a commuting pilot to start?
What a concept eh, you're shitty for AC but we are okay with you flying our paint and brand under GGN/Sky Regional/Jazz, but we don't want you at AC. If that's seriously the train of thought then I am honestly speechless. How is a guy 'good' and 'safe' for one ac facade but not the other? Smells li...

Re: What's life like as a commuting pilot to start?
It was a one time trial program... and not repeated, maybe for a reason, not standard ops. Correct. From the sounds of it as well AC was not happy with the whole program hence why they decided to get rid of it. What a concept eh, you're shitty for AC but we are okay with you flying our paint and br...

Re: pAtTeRn bArGaInIng
Delta has a fleet size of almost 1000 aircraft. We have sub 300 not including Jazz and that's simply due to having an exponentially higher population density. Given their restructuring, they've managed to turn that into a highly profitable business. We have too in the last decade and are now a mere...

Yeah that was just logged hours, not including duty time which would be "hours worked". I don't know what I did, just what I flew.MX-5 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2026 5:22 amWait. You flew 300h and made $280K+ ?flying4dollars wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2026 9:20 pm Year 4 NB capt

Delta, UAL etc didn't take 16 years to get where they are. They have had massive gains from 2018-2019 onwards, and in two bargaining cycles saw essentially a 100% increase in pay. This is cycle number 2 for us, so when we dont get anywhere close this time around what will the excuses be this time? ...

It is made up I just checked the exact flight as the poster did and the number is in the 550$ range. Not sure why he is posting easily debunked lies Edit. I just read through some of the unhinged nonsense this Daniel Cooper posts, so him just making shit up tracks. He's one of many trolls on this f...

Well I heard from a lot of pilots, they won't even consider your application if you don't know French. It's like an unwritten rule. One of my highly experienced buddies also said, "My name doesn't sounds French, of course they won't hire me." Heard it directly from Transat pilots? What d...

Re: What's life like as a commuting pilot to start?
While that's great cdn... Here's an idea... Interview for AC when joining Jazz. Not Jazz. Why are we interviewing for Jazz to fly AC pax? Why is it such a ridiculous system? lol. Or maybe when guys apply to Jazz, ask them on the application, "HEY DO U WANT TO ALSO GO TO AC AFTER SPENDING 2 YEARS AT...

Re: Widebody fleet replacements?
It talks about ‘new routes’ and shows a graphic with eastern operations out of YYZ/YUL to the Indian subcontinent and South Africa and a single westerly route (Bangkok?). It didn't look overly accurate but Ho Chi Minh was listed as one of future routes when I started, along with Bangkok and Manila ...

Re: Widebody fleet replacements?
Keep in mind the order was 8 firm 8 options. Not exactly ground breaking. I think given the order number, the door is open for 777x given it's lift capabilities. Still, very exciting announcement either way (even though I think most of us were prepared for it).

What are you talking about? 1. A350 would be an entirely new type at Air Canada 2. B777X will share a common type with B777 3. Easy never factors into Air Canada management plans although they are so cheap that it ends up costing them I was under the impression that Airbus types have a simplified c...

It what scenarios are FOs making more than Captains? Year 12 widebody instructor FO doing VO vs a year 3 narrowbody captain on junior reserve at MBG. So things need to change. The NB pilot needs an efficient schedule so they could have the same opportunity if inclined to pick up premium. 95% of the...

I also heard a rumour the majority of the airbuses are not going anywhere and that 14-15 are being reconfigured as jetz machines instead. 14-15 Jetz fins?! Or was that a typo for 4-5? I have not heard a rumor than included that many Jetz fins. If it were true, would this mean dedicated Jetz crews? ...

Where are these so called experienced pilots going to go? One or two might go overseas, but let's be honest, 99% will stay and simply be grumpy. Corporate, overseas, porter, Jetlines 2.0? I'd wager that there's more than just one or two going overseas. Canada is losing record people in the mid 30's...

Re: 2026 PIT FLEET AC
What I however do guess is that if AC wants to truly be a global player, they can't stagnate at 270-280 fins. For example (and I get EK is not a DIRECT competitor, but it speaks to the market share they're hunting for with what I'm about to say), Tim Clark (their ceo) has made it abundantly clear t...
