Re: Everyone’s talking about it...

Hahahaha. Well there you go. Explains a lot. Buddy has zero experience or credibility to make assumptions. I agree the flight planning being done for you helps, but like the other guy higher up said, when I did do it, it was a morning ritual while drinking my coffee and wasn't all that hard. The ch...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

I was at Sky and from my video interview to an email setting up my in person was 10 months (that was in 2017-18). You probably moved on too quickly. As you left an express carrier your application died with it I would believe. I suppose anything's possible! Ah well, I've reapplied anyways 😬 Thanks!

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Sorry, I assumed you were at Jazz given you were talking about PML and technically no other express carrier has ever had a PML. Even a version 2.0. No sweat! Simple misunderstanding. I was at Georgian and yes, there was a PML. Though it was never really as efficient as planned. So my video intervie...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Well, you're fighting from one of about 350 positions. Up against military, SW, WJ and overseas widebody Captains. Probably would have been a better idea to stay at Jazz. You'd have been at AC a year already. Guess it wasn't so smart after all to go to Flair for the quick payday. I wasn't at Jazz a...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Maybe somebody can chime in but I had applied at Air Canada several times in my career. I got the video interview in Feb 2017 as part of the PML program, yet I never heard a word from HR after completion. I'm now at another airline and have applied a couple of times since and still nothing. I even h...

Outsiders being employees from other airlines... sources are the employees who have worked in the industry for long enough years and seen travel passes policies before. That's all. Fair enough. Though I remember constantly hearing that Flair would be done within months from those same industry expe...

Alot of mixed opinions...employees are claiming good load factors and outsiders are seeing red flags. As usual, never a dull day.
Interesting. Tho, curious, what outsiders and what are your sources?

Re: Accepting applications for First Officers & Direct Entry Captains

We're recruiting a limited amount of DEC's at the moment as well though it hasn't been officially posted. Interested captain's can submit through the F/O link and mention it in the cover letter. Why the need for DEC’s. Are there no F.O.’s that can be upgraded to Captain? The Captain positions avail...

Was always a dream of mine to fly with them. But after a co worker went there last summer and then opted out and hearing some more info from another fella as well. Don’t think I’ll be applying.
If you're going to make that kind of a statement, you might as well share.

Re: Hiring- B737 FO's CYYZ & CYVR/CYXX

What are upgrade times looking like? Depends on where you fit into the upgrade matrix. There's a minimum time on weight category that needs to be met, but you get reductions from that requirement for time on other types (rj, dash, ATR etc) ,even B1900 in an airline capacity. You also get reductions...

There is definitely something coming. I saw on one of their social media posts, a picture of their blank CRJ with the caption "Exciting things are happening".

I sure hope they stick around. Just more opportunities for pilots.

Wonder what the OP ended up doing. If you're still undecided, just remember money ain't everything. Job satisfaction goes a long way in terms of happiness and health. I joined aviation during 9/11 and I had a really tough time getting my first fo job and took forever to upgrade. The pay after my fi...

I would never condone slandering another human in the workplace or giving out a bad/negative reference. I have however seen the systems in place through the training departments work to remove these individuals from the operating environment or keeping them in a first officers position indefinitely...

It's probably easy to say that if it was your kid, you wouldn't want to wake up half the province to let them know, until it is your kid. I don't mind the alert though, I've endured worse things in life. I do notice it's a constant thing in Ontario, and almost rarely happens in the west where I resi...

Is Northern Thunderbird Air not around anymore? I havent been in the game for a while.I guess they were part of CMA. NT Air and CMA 1900s are all dual registered. I don't believe Carson has any 1900's, unless they recently acquired one. Also, Georgian is no longer utilizing the 1900 as far as I kno...

*REDUCED* BOSE ProFlight noise cancelling aviation headset - YVR

I bought this headset in December and have used it a couple of months. It's a fantastic headset, especially for the jet. It's lightweight and comfortable and the audio clarity is amazing. The tap to disable noise cancelling on an individual earpiece is a really neat feature. I can provide a copy of ...

I think you can claim it only if your employer provides a letter stating they do NOT provide them, but they are a necessity for crews to acquire to perform their duties.

Re: Air Canada Express Carrier EVAS Air Now accepting applications from pilots holding foreign licences/qualifications

I don't get the rebranding. Like you said it's an AC flight booked through AC. As far as the passengers are concerned it's AC. So what does taking AC off the side of the plane accomplish? It's usually only other employees who see it anyway. So when the gear collapses on another GGN or EVAS 1900, th...
