Former 705 guy who went south and still lives in Canada Legacy carrier, 2nd year B737 FO 368k CAD Inclusive of Company 401k, per diem, profit sharing. (This number is triple what I made in Canada in 2024.) Why do you choose to commute to live in Canada vs living next to base in US? In the process o...

Re: What happened to the licence thread?
The thread about the 777 Captain without proper licence disappeared from here yesterday. Why? There is a thread in the General Comments” section but without it here(where it belongs) one is missing out on some “inside opinions/knowledge” that might provide some insight into this bizarre situation. ...

"Do human things". Ironic since it was humans that created AI.
Anyways, the issue is still the issue no matter who or what wrote that synopsis.

Re: Sunwing B737 Captain fired for ordering fried chicken
He wanted to go and choose his own food, the company was in violation of the collective agreement and inflexible on providing options, he made a goofy protest order to make a point. I don't read racism in it. Only the people that are combing everything with the goal to raise a capital case on ident...

I'm sure there was more to this story and a possible history with this guy. This was probably the straw that broke the camel's back. Just a guess.

Re: 2026 Hiring Pool
Hi everyone, I just got my interview results and I’ve been placed in the hiring pool. Is anyone else in the same boat? I’m wondering how long the wait typically is before getting an actual offer. Or... is being 'pooled' just a polite way of saying I didn't get the job? Thanks! You should know what ...

Probably flat bid. The April bid was cancelled because they wanted to cut and reduce, but someone had some sense apparently and kicked the cab to June at least... No direction or leadership... Expect a nonevent at best. I don't think we will see any cutting or reducing. I solely base that on the 60...

It takes at least a year to get to YVR, bottom of the 220 list. 2-3 years to get bottom of either the 777 or 787 RP in Vancouver. I doubt you’d get a YVR position in PIT. oops sorry I've been here over 3 years, I meant CMSC not PIT, should've posted on a more appropriate thread. There were open 787...

In the modern age nobody wants to serve you. Nobody wants to cook or deliver food to strangers. Nobody even wants to pour you a drink, or take your plate away. The modern world has told us this servitude is slavery. Anyone doing this is resentful. They're going to take it out on you eventually one ...

Well, this will certainly change some folks thoughts. Air Canada suspending flights to JFK over jet fuel prices. https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/article/air-canada-suspends-flights-to-jfk-airport-due-to-jet-fuel-prices/ AC only flys to JFK maybe 3 times a day between YUL and YYZ. They fly multiple ti...

Does Jazz still advertise DEC hiring or was that a temp thing? I can’t speak to whether or not they advertise but essentially if you have the qualifications and figure you’re ok to risk it, DEC is likely available in every class. The reason I say risk it, the union advises that if you are not succe...

@jazzstuart I can see that you are spending more time reporting people cuz it makes you feel better about yourself. Learn to fly a hold. It’s the same in any aircraft type. Ask for 10 mile legs. Less turning, but you’ll learn that once you actually go above flight level 250 Auto-pilot and FMS make ...

What a concept eh, you're shitty for AC but we are okay with you flying our paint and brand under GGN/Sky Regional/Jazz, but we don't want you at AC. If that's seriously the train of thought then I am honestly speechless. How is a guy 'good' and 'safe' for one ac facade but not the other? Smells li...

It was a one time trial program... and not repeated, maybe for a reason, not standard ops. Correct. From the sounds of it as well AC was not happy with the whole program hence why they decided to get rid of it. What a concept eh, you're shitty for AC but we are okay with you flying our paint and br...

Delta has a fleet size of almost 1000 aircraft. We have sub 300 not including Jazz and that's simply due to having an exponentially higher population density. Given their restructuring, they've managed to turn that into a highly profitable business. We have too in the last decade and are now a mere...

Delta, UAL etc didn't take 16 years to get where they are. They have had massive gains from 2018-2019 onwards, and in two bargaining cycles saw essentially a 100% increase in pay. This is cycle number 2 for us, so when we dont get anywhere close this time around what will the excuses be this time? ...
